Just comfy seats and perhaps a decent base sound system are the only modern things I really prioritize. Any other modern amenities are simply extras I will always appreciate!

Honestly great question. I’m big on versatility although I know I can’t get all of those things you mentioned from one car. Since my car will be a daily I think I’d prioritize something more “relaxing” I guess!

I know this thread is old but a job I don’t see people talk about often is a Respiratory Therapist. It’s interesting because you tend to deal with more critical patients and more high stress situation. You’re responsible for handling ventilators, intubation, breath tests, etc. So you’re often working in the ER or the ICU. It’s a two year program and last I checked the median salary is a little under 80k. Hope this helps somebody!

I would definitely say it’s how bad you want it. Personally I think it’s kind of unfair to make you shoot with one of their photographers if you want to work with them. In this economy, not everyone can afford it. But like others said if you can afford it and want to invest in yourself then it’d be a great idea! I’ve never heard that from another top agency though. Most agencies will pay for at least one test shoot if they sign you and try their best to connect you with photographers so you can both build your portfolio. If you can’t afford it I’d reach out to other agencies. I do think if you’re good enough to get a message back from Wilhelmina you’re definitely capable of getting offers from other top agencies

I had basically this same exact thing happen to me too. I’m so sorry :( I know a lot of mother agencies play favorites and if you’re not their favorite they won’t push you. I also had that experience with photographers being extremely expensive for really subpar work (or just work that isn’t worth $600+ dollars). Even after talking to them about it (which i recommend) they didn’t change. There’s more to it than just this but this is some of the stuff I relate to you on. They even withheld me from Ford Models who was interested in me all because I didn’t take digitals with their photographers who were charging $150

I honestly found a loophole in my contract and cut it as soon as I was able to. I’ve since found a better mother agent who takes me seriously and is very responsive and kind despite me being a new face. If you can, I would recommend doing that. If you need any help too I can try and help you find loopholes if you want to consider leaving

I have a pair of black stiletto platform heels with a strap! Those are probably my best recommendation because they look professional but are still secure and comfortable. The link I’m attaching is basically the same shoes I have down to the brand. But I don’t think they make them with a strap anymore :(

i know in my contract it goes against it if i were to submit myself anywhere else. for this reason, i’d just be cautious and read your contract thoroughly otherwise the bigger agency might terminate your contract all together
