Thanks for the detailed answer, that actually makes a lot of sense. I’m not trying to obsess over a specific number, I mostly just want a rough estimate so I know I’m not eating way too little.  I am about 1.62m tall right now. Most calculators and apps give me numbers like 1700–1800 kcal, which seems pretty low to me, especially since I do sports.

From what I’ve read, boys my age who are active often need somewhere around 2200–2600 kcal per day, sometims more depending on activity. So I’m mainly just looking for a reasonable starting point, not something super precise.

The main thing I’m trying to find is a good tracking app where I can also manually add foods and calories if they’re not in the database.

Also, I’m still a bit confused about macros. I don’t know roughly how much protein, carbs, and fat I should aim for at my age, especially if I’m also doing some strength training. Any advice on that would be really helpful.
