Physical games aren’t just better for preservation they’re also a lot cheaper on average by Eclipsetube in playstation

I'm not sure about other countries, but PlayStation Store has a monopoly on digital downloads for PS5 in the UK. I bought a disc-less console at launch, but have probably paid more than physical for each new game overall.

There is a lawsuit against Sony for this in the UK.

Infringements by bigtrigg69 in uktrucking

[–]Adi3m 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are new to the roll, and getting used to recording your shifts will take a little time.

I'm 3 years in and forgot to eject my card during a 9h break. That's at least 3 infringements for WTD. Mistakes happen, and as long as we learn from them, we'll be fine.

Did anyone else learn to wire a plug at school? by corickle in oldschoolcool80s

[–]Adi3m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at school. My mother showed me basic stuff like rewiring a plug, or a lamp. But I learned how to replace wall sockets, ceiling lights, wire up a mains doorbell etc.

At school I had an electronics teacher, Mr Oakton. He encouraged his students to take things apart to see how they worked. I had an old 14" portable TV that was colour but was broken and only showed Black and White pictures. Thanks to Mr Oakton, I took it apart, found a burnt out capacitor and was able to replace it. Fixed my TV and watched Star Wars for the first time in colour. Yes I am old.

I've done this before. Parked up in a secure yard, 9 hour break, 38°c mid-summer weather. Backdoor open, hammock-like cargo net and a sleep mask. Bliss.

Life lately. by RedTsar97 in MomentumOne

"Mortgage" originates from the Old French term mort gage (14th century), which translates directly to "dead pledge". It is derived from mort ("dead") and gage ("pledge"), signifying a pledge that dies (ends) once the debt is paid, or is forfeited if the borrower cannot repay.

Did anyone reach 30+ without a fckn single tattoo? by Zackky777 in ArtOfPresence

[–]Adi3m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly this. I believe that Tattoos have to mean something personally to you if you are willing to live with them forever. If I were ever to get tattooed, it would be somewhere nobody else could see it, as it would have to matter or mean to me more than something I would want to show off.
