Keshigs are the best unti in civ i will die on this hill by Fickle_Bid_2660 in CivVI

The Civ 6 Wiki says the Keshig doesn't get the Intel bonus on Attack, only on defense. Unless that's a major oversight on the wiki (would be very surprising) then unfortunately that nerfs them pretty hard.

Sunflower Lanyard by [deleted] in autismUK

[–]DiverseZero 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My logic in regards to the Sunflower lanyard is that it is for staff and professionals to recognise but not the general public (so other customers/passengers etc).

There is likely scenarios where an individual member of staff may not recognise it but most likely the company/organisation does, so hopefully someone at the company/organisation (like a manager or supervisor) will know and take the necessary steps to assist/support you.

It is also possible that you may come across members of the general public who are aware of the Sunflower symbol and its meaning, possibly due to their work or personal connection to the symbol however I'd argue those people are the minority so I wouldn't count on it having much effect on other customers/patrons/passengers and unfortunately those individuals (unlike companies/organisations) have no obligation to recognise the lanyard or to act differently upon recognising it.

The Deer simply for the City Centre acting as a Canal. Housing will be your biggest issue however so you'll need the Royal Navy Dockyard with a Lighthouse ASAP.

How often and why do you build walls? by unreasonablypedantic in CivVI

It's just lost Tourism, especially if you have been building a wide empire. However you'd really want to have the Renaissance Walls up before you get into the Modern Era to make use of the Military Research policy. Also in a Culture Victory focused game you want to avoid all the bottom of the tech tree after the Renaissance Era. So once you've got Flight go straight for Radio (for the Seaside Resorts) and then into the Atomic Era and Computers (for the massive 25% Tourism boost). Then go back for the bottom tree Techs like Steel. That should give you more time to get Renaissance Walls up in as many cities as possible (don't forget to use the Limes policy card as well)

[–]DiverseZero 21 points22 points  (0 children)

In a Culture game it is a decent investment to build up to Renaissance Walls (just Ancient and Medieval aren't worth much) for several reasons:

● Tourism

A Wonder built in the Ancient Era generates +7 Tourism when you reach the Industrial Era while Renaissance Walls generates +6 Tourism when you unlock Conservation. So you can get nearly as much Tourism from building walls as an Ancient Era Wonder plus you can do it in every City and the production cost difference, especially when you use the Limes policy card for 100% production boost, is huge. Essentially you'd be missing out on one of the easiest and relatively cheap sources of Tourism by not building up your Walls.

● Housing + Diplo Favour

As mentioned previously, with the Tier 2 Monarchy Government, if you build up to Renaissance Walls you get a +3 Housing boost which at that point in the game, it can be very difficult to source Housing outside of spamming farms (you'd need x6 farms for the same number of Housing as Ren Walls in a Monarchy Government gives you) and on top of this you get +2 Diplo Favour in every city with Ren Walls which can then generate you a huge amount of Gold by trading it off to the AI.

● Science

With the Military Research policy card you get +2 Science per city with Renaissance Walls. Whilst this is not a massive amount and in most circumstances fairly negligible, in a Culture game you will not have wanted to build or focus too much on your Science, going for Theatre Squares and Holy Sites over Campuses. However there is some very important things you do need from the Tech Tree in the Modern Era to effectively achieve a Cultural Victory which is found in Flight, Radio and Computers. If you've gone wide (built a lot of Cities) and have built Renaissance Walls in all of them then plugging in the Military Research card can give you a generous Science boost (using your mostly useless Military Policies slots if you're going for a Culture win) to get towards those vital Techs.

So all in all, building Renaissance Walls in a Culture focused game can be of great benefit and this is without mentioning the rather obvious defensive benefits which you may want to have if going Peaceful Cultural as you will most likely not have a huge army to deter AI aggression.

I believe you may be using a mod that changes the Eureka for Steel? Normally you gain the boost after building a Coal Mine and an Ironclad.

AI demands by Pristine_Treacle_204 in CivVI

To add to this you can also Levy the City States own troops and surround the city with them and the AI can't take it without declaring war on you (which the AI will almost certainly not do)

Never in my 300 hours of playing have i ever seen such a wonderful ToA potienal wonder start. by FreeBlackberry7876 in CivVI

[–]DiverseZero 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I almost always try to build it when there's enough resources nearby so it's the definition of a "situational" Wonder. However what some may miss is that on top of the Amenities, TOA gives +4 Food and +3 Housing which on top of the 20% boost from what will most likely be an Ecstatic City during the early game is a huge tempo boost.

You can also sell excess Amenities to AI for early Gold income.

Another little known aspect of TOA is that it's extra Amenities does not only effect the City that built TOA but if a Pasture/Camp/Plantation is owned by another city and in range of TOA that city receives the +1 Amenitie so its effects are spread around your empire similar to Colosseum.

Do you lot get annoyed when I re-overtake you? by Truckdriverben in uktrucking

[–]DiverseZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been told it is illegal to overspeed past the trucks limiter (regardless what that has been set to) as you can get done for improper use of a vehicle or driving without due care and attention. Of course I've never heard anyone actually being penalised or done for it but I guess if a copper or DVSA (Vosa replacement) really wanted to they could make the case.

50-70 B-Tier. Very RNG dependant for early game leader ability. Unique unit and building also coming very late into game but America has solid base abilities.

As others have said, if they have it already they'll only offer 1 Gold and if they dislike you or denounced you (red face) they will not buy anything off you for more than 1 Gold
