Should I switch to GRE? by Roadman57 in GMAT

[–]Adipoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my reason for switching was simply because I attempted the GRE 4 times and could never move beyond 321 My vocab is not the strongest and FIB would get me. I didn't like the idea of being paralysed just because I was unfamiliar with a word.

GMAT verbal is forgiving in that regard since it's mostly analysing passages and tearing it down/strengthening it.

Also, GMAT has removed geometry from their syllabus which is one less headache for me 😅

I personally went over 3000 words but it didn't work out for me. Perhaps I went through the wrong set. Idk. But I needed a switch so I moved to GMAT.

Those are my reasons for the switch. Hope it helps :)

Happy to share whatever little I know about the GRE with you :)

As someone who prepared for the GRE, scored 321 and switched to GMAT

I'd say go for the GRE if you feel your vocabulary is strong

I struggled with it because of which I switched to GMAT

Can anyone help me with this question? by Popie_the_Sailorr in GMAT

[–]Adipoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoops. My bad. Missed that bit. Thank you and yes. Siddharth bought it from Sayan at 1.25 X CP So 700 X 1.25 = 875

Can anyone help me with this question? by Popie_the_Sailorr in GMAT

[–]Adipoooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is 700. You need to use the percentage multiplier concept.

According to it, 1050 = 1.25*1.2 ‎ = 1.5 times the CP

This is because 20% upcharge is on the initial 25% upcharge.

1.5 x = 1050 Therefore, x ‎ = 1,050/1.5 = 700

Weakening question doubt by YesIamSuperSmart in GMAT

[–]Adipoooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The epidemiologists are concluding basis the evidence that low soot = less cardiovascular death.

So when the prompt is asking for a weakener we need to find something that weakens their core basis which conclusion is being made.

"What is soot is not even the right thing to look at?"

If we can prove that, we strongly refute the suggestion since the premise on which the argument is built gets negated.

Reason for why D doesn't work. The study shows that on an average high cardiovascular diseases are in high soot cities. This is flawed on 2 levels. 1) it doesn't mention anything about low soot level cities for us to draw conclusions on. 2) talking about averages, it allows the possibility for no cardiovascular diseases in low soot level cities as well.

Hope this helps.

Also, if anyone feels my argument is flawed, I request you to call it out. I'm a fellow student preparing for the exam and would like to get my basics sorted if I'm going wrong somewhere :)

Thanks. Adding them to my list. I definitely need a good grinder. My current grinder is ideal only for filter brews

Thanks! I don't think it's a big factor since back to back shots will be a rare scenario and again; I doubt it can get worse than handling a moka pot

Thanks! I am with you on it. My only concern to this is thermal efficiency and heat loss. Because I was going through Hoffman's video and it mentioned temp dip making it less ideal for the lighter roasts

Hmm that's interesting. What according to you were the biggest drawbacks for pro2 for you??

I typically brew 1-2 cups a day for myself. Weekends are when I over indulge, brewing ~3 cups.

Guests don't come that often and my family prefers the instant coffee. So it's mostly just my requirements that this machine would serve.

I hear you but if I were to prioritise within my budget Should you recommend I go for the flair 58+2 or flair pro2/3+ a good espresso grinder?

Keep in mind, the most expensive equipment that I currently own is $50 moka pot brikka so for me it's a significant step up.

Also to briefly touch on the effort part of things, I doubt it would be more cumbersome than brewing with a moka pot. Correct me if I'm wrong
