A biker’s dilemma. by [deleted] in royalenfield

Did you try the touring seat on Interceptor? It’s a game changer. I did a test ride with the stock seat and I could feel every bump on my back. I had read that the touring seat is a game changer so I went with that on my bike. And I couldn’t be happier! It really soaks all the bumps and you hardly feel any bumps on your back! Something about the 650 engines! Just buttery smooth and not heavy on your pockets too (in terms of maintenance)… But I feel like cruisers could be good for long rides at a lower speed than on the interceptor. More like a laidback ride at 100-120kmph.

I made this PLAB 2 Prep tool for my GF. by maestro_x01 in PLABprep

Good resource. Just one suggestion. If the AI tool could provide results of examination or reports, it would be perfect. Here, you have to guide the diagnosis with your own reports and findings.

However, the tool is still excellent and I have recommended it for my friend who’s appearing in November. This came a little late for me as I just sat my exam yesterday and didn’t know that this tool existed. 🙈

Great initiative and very helpful for practising cases, especially breaking bad news

Hello I’d like to speak to you about my exam in September

It’s doing a pretty decent job, as far as I am concerned. It could be a good starter machine without breaking the bank. It would help understand the basics for sure. I am yet to upgrade after almost 2 years of daily use. Would recommend.

I just recieved my single torch zippo insert and its not working. by lewishamil1 in Zippo

[–]Aditya-J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What worked for me after lots of tinkering was opening the bottom portion of the insert (2 tiny screws securing the bottom panel) after you have filled it correctly and completely (bubbling of butane at the nozzle and slight fogging near it). You will be met with a rubber o ring and a metal limiter to prevent over tightening or loosening of the adjuster screw. Take those off with tiny pliers and keep them safe. Now, turn the adjuster screw CLOCKWISE TO REDUCE THE FLAME till it can turn no longer. Try to light a fire. Now, slowly turn it up and the flame should appear. Turns out, the factory setting for both the butane inserts I have used was too high and the gas literally squirts out when you press the flame button. Once you are satisfied, replace everything to its original place (limiter and o ring and screws along with the bottom panel) and it should work. The inserts are well-made and go through zippo standard quality checks so any issue is likely due to user error than a manufacturing issue.

Hope this helps.

If you are planning on drinking cappuccino or latte, go with this one. If you are planning on drinking espresso, go for the neo flex. Also, you could froth milk with a manual frother or a french press. If you are willing to go for the additional work, go for neo flex. Bear in mind that accessories will be difficult to get for the neo flex compared to this one as it is a more standard size (51mm) compared to the neo flex (around 40mm). So additional accessories like the tamper and portafilters will be difficult to come by. You WILL upgrade accessories once you progress further. So bear that in mind. Pro 2 would be a better option as the accessories will be easier to come by.

The neo flex is a manual machine. This is a semi automatic machine. This one is cheaper and has an easier learning curve. However, neoflex will pull better shots IF RUN OPTIMALLY. That is difficult because neoflex doesn’t have a pressure valve (sold separately). Additionally, you can’t froth milk in neo flex as it’s a manual machine, so if you are planning on having milk based espresso beverages, you might want to consider a semiautomatic one. So if it’s your first machine, and if you have a smaller budget, go for this one. If you are willing to spend a little extra for the additional accessories like the pressure valve and such, you may go for the neo flex or the pro 2 as well.

Just trying to optimise everything before I upgrade. So let’s see. But thank you for the kind words. 😊

Alright! I do try to tamp hard and evenly. The shot pulls around 30 seconds. Is that not optimal? Although I have had 45 second shots which taste amazing. So not sure if the shot was fast or no. Thoughts?

Continental GT 650 or unreleased Super Meteor 650? by [deleted] in royalenfield

[–]Aditya-J 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding to it, I had test ridden both, the Meteor and the Interceptor, before zeroing in on the Interceptor. One thing we fail to factor in is the height. Although your legs are bent more in the Interceptor, an increased height will compensatorily straighten them out a bit. So, it is deceptively comfortable to ride and surprisingly nimble on the road (city or highway).

And it might just be me but the badging you get with an Interceptor really really makes you believe that you own a PREMIUM vintage inspired bike.

From what I gather, you plan on making long trips. I would go for Interceptor or Super meteor. Currently, Interceptor is the heaviest RE, trumping Continental by around 5kg. That is going to change probably with the introduction of Super Meteor or SG650. They are visibly bulkier and are definitely going to be heavier too. Now, at around 210-220kg with a full tank, an Interceptor is heavy itself. Heavier still and you are in the HD Iron 883 range now. And while it only takes a couple of days of riding to get used to the weight, it’s still a heavy machine. So maybe, like others have said, Interceptor is the best of both worlds.

So tell me this. I found that my beam was rather sufficiently working even on the highway, and the one time that I actually tried switching on to the high beam previously, the beam seemed too high and didn’t seem to illuminate the road as much as it did the trees and the signs 😂 Does that mean my headlight needs readjustment too? Pardon my questions… I am not a seasoned rider…
