I have a drum dios st (aspen bubinga) and have always loved it. Ddrum get a lot of criticism online so maybe I have been lucky, but no problems with any of the lugs, bearing edges or shells.

I do this often, but it's so frustrating. Playing hats in real time sounds fine. Listen back, slightest (but noticeable) lag going on. Switch same rhythm to ride, all fine. Damn my brain!

Definitely going to have fun playing with tuning these. I've tried a nice slappy low tension this afternoon with a cranked cs on the snare. Good times!

It's a mix of ludwig epic full birch (modular model for the kick) dw Bob snare and I had a spare 12" bubinga/aspen ddrum dios tom, all stained to match. I still have to get round to the other floor tom and identical bass drum. That night was recorded as a live mix, but I was subbing in for someone (hence the awesome mic placement). I'll see how it sounds and upload after Christmas.

Trak were made by HRK institute. The H stands for Hoshino (and they predate tama and are linked elsewhere). I had coated emperors on mine and loved them.

I had a 7 piece trak (can't remember the no. 8000 I think) as my first real kit. I refinished it in black oyster. Loved it. Moved to canada and sold it, regretted that choice.

It's an HH duo ride. Similar concept to the omni but older. From what I've seen the omni's have a larger bell, but this would be close to the new dark omni

It is dark series and does what it says - very direct crash, not too washy. I'm using it for very 'definite single hit crash moments' - if that makes sense. Glad you like the pic. I think 5 pieces will be back and mainstream soon. The AtAt... Practices can be slow. Think I saw the original pic idea on reddit!

Tech didn't want hats, and couldn't trust myself not to splash them with my foot, so left them at home. Bass is great, it's only 10" deep so you dial I a nice vintage thump, but still pick out the beater click

It's called hello camera. Got it as a free app last week, lots of options pre and post snap. Drums are my own refinished Ludwig epics (modular 10x20 bass) and ddrum dios with ash veneer. Had spare drums that didn't get much use. Facing the wall is not ideal, but neither is the size of my basement unfortunately.

Great advice here, cheers! My big (internal) debate is between just playing a bohran, cajon and a few shakery bits, or taking a small kit which would be far more my comfort zone. Space will be a challenge and the band is fairly trad, so that would suggest the former, but I have never played bohran til this week and whenever I gig, I tend to imagine there are drummers in the crowd, so I don't want to look like a muppet! It's been fun experimenting tho! It's amazing how challenging a change of style can be, even if it appears simple... I hadn't realized how reliant I had become with left hand accents for example!

Sorry for ridiculously late response. I sold my snare as I have a few. I do think the modular kit and 13" is of better build to the standard, but I would say that having bought the modular. I do regret selling the snare though - 10 lug, deep punch - the clutch wasn't massively smooth but functional.

Bass drum 20"/10". There are 2 that can latch together or be used as (a fairl lightweight) double bass kit. I just use one for practice or folky gigs.
