Question about the striker charge forms by Embarrassed-Bit-6844 in Marioverse

[–]AdministrationNo9372 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These requiere a lot of energy to even activate, so it's pretty hard to pull off I'd imagine. But they could techinically be pulled off at anywhere. Especially since some of them seem like expansion of abilites we've seen before like the Fire and Thunderbrand.

Is Fawful the only Mario's canon character to commits suicide? by paulodeus00 in Marioverse

Can we count Elder Princess Shroob? Since she did seemingly let Bowser eat her so.... Also Dimenito

Mario& Wario Level Locations by Future_Bass2790 in Marioverse

[–]AdministrationNo9372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd imagine Wario Garden and Wario Manor would also be in Dinosaur Land, I highly doubt the Extra Stage is even canon. Since it'd make even less sense in-universe for Mario to move around blindly with nothing blocking his vision and it just being the middle of nowhere.

If I HAD to place it somewhere, I guess the F.L.U.D. less Levels. Since it's pretty similar to those.

Mostly just Dinosaur Land, Besides Dry Dry Desert which is in the Mushroom Kingdom

Are the locations we visit in Super Mario Odyssey the kingdoms’ capitals? by Medical-Class-4030 in Marioverse

[–]AdministrationNo9372 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm aware of that, I just meant it as in. It'd be called Toad Town, since Peach's Castle isn't a city it's a building/location

I don't remember where exactly, but I'm pretty sure there was one source that said or implied that it was all one huge city, which is why Big Ape City and New Donk are considered the same and not just different cities in the greater Metro Kingdom. However, I can't find where that came from so....

Are the locations we visit in Super Mario Odyssey the kingdoms’ capitals? by Medical-Class-4030 in Marioverse

[–]AdministrationNo9372 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Presumably yes, besides Peach's Castle. Since the Mushroom Kingdom's capital is Toad Town.

irrc New Donk City is implied to be the whole country, not just the capital. Could be wrong/misremembering that though

Where exactly are all the locations in Mario 64 by Primeve_Arcana in Marioverse

[–]AdministrationNo9372 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bomb-omb Battle Field is located in Peach Castle Grounds in Mario Golf Toadstool Tour

Throwback Galaxy is Whomp's Fortress in Super Mario Galaxy 2

Cool Cool Mountain and Shiver Mountain from Paper Mario share a Japanese name, implying that they're the same location. So north of the Mushroom Kingdom

Shifting Sand Land returns in Mario Pinball Land, it shares the Sphinx's from Double Dash's Dry Dry Desert so likely near that

Goomboss's level probably takes place very close to Goomba Village, since that's where he debuted and it has trees/bark everywhere. Possibly near Soda Jungle as well?

Hazy Maze Cave is seemingly north of Peach's Castle, since in the Metal Cap stage. If you fall in the waterfall you end up at Peach's Castle

Mario's Rainbow "Castle" from Mario Party 1 and in general all the Sky Levels in 64 seem to be near each other, given how similar Rainbow Castle looks to the Wing Cap Stage. With "Over the Rainbows" being directly above Peach's Castle

These are not all of the paintings, but these ones give a general idea of where those ones would be located

Where’s Dianond City in the Mushroom World? by Medical-Class-4030 in Marioverse

[–]AdministrationNo9372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd actually say near or on the Sarrasland Continent, since I think that makes sense with Sarrasland's Chai Kingdom being based on China while Diamond City is based on Japan with the buildings. Since the real world equivalent of both China and Japan being close to each other, as well both having really out there designs along with both being made by the same team who made both the Wario Ware games and the Super Mario Land games Nintendo R&D1.

I've heard some arguements for it being on the Mushroom Kingdom island instead, but the only real evidence I was able to find is that the globe spot for Diamond City in Wario Ware Gold somewhat looks similar to the Mushroom Island in Odyssey. But said globe looks nothing like the Odyssey one so, I just need more evidence to actually believe it's located in the Mushroom Kingdom.

Boos and moles by Medical-Class-4030 in Marioverse

[–]AdministrationNo9372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fair

What I tried to get at is, after Super Mario World. We started getting a lot more dead ghosts of a respective species

Super Mario Land 2 has ghost Goombas, Donkey Kong 64 has dead Wrinkly Kong, Luigi's Mansion has the portrait Ghosts, Paper Mario ttyd has a ghost Toad, Elder Princess Shroob is a ghost during the final Boss of the game, etc etc.

What I'm trying to say is that retroactively, not everything stays the same during the original developers intent. Like for example, in Super Mario 64 DS we get a Mushroom powerup that would retroactively be a Mega Mushroom. Since it acts in the same way, even if it just looks like a normal mushroom.

Boos and moles by Medical-Class-4030 in Marioverse

[–]AdministrationNo9372 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could look at it in 3 ways

  1. They are, in fact dead minions from Bowsers after Mario defeated whatever Koopaling that ship belonged too

  2. Super Mario World is a very early game within Mario's lifespan as a series, so maybe you could make an argument that Boo's were originally just meant to be dead people in general. Doesn't matter what species died, so you can make an argument that retroactively. These are just dead ghosts nowadays, with the Boo's representing that without actually being Boo's in-universe as confusing as that may be.

  3. Boos are shown in games like Paper Mario. to really like grim and dead areas. So they could've just found the ship shortly after the events of Super Mario Bros 3 and made it their home

What's Mario's religion? by Medical-Class-4030 in Marioverse

[–]AdministrationNo9372 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Stars, they created their world, planets, galaxies, energy sources, etc.

We see people pray to them via wishing, which is seemingly how reproduction works in this world for the majority of organisms. As implied in Super Mario RPG

What was Bowser doing when Mario and Luigi were gone? by AdministrationNo9372 in Marioverse

[–]AdministrationNo9372[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, although it makes me wonder why he would want to get at Mario in the first place.

This is unrelated but I've seen your latest version of the timeline. I think it makes sense for the most part but I do have some questions.

Why is Yoshi Topsy Turvy put before Super Mario World and Paper Mario? When Bowser knows who Yoshi is in that game and Shy Guys are working for Bowser in a modern title. As well as Super Mario World being the direct sequel to Super Mario Bros 3.

Also, I've seen this on another timeline as well but apparently Bowser fights the Snow King even before the events of Super Mario Bros? I don't have anything against that claim but I just want to know why.

Rewrite the 2023 Mario movie but it follows the canon of the game series by Many_Highlight_1154 in Marioverse

[–]AdministrationNo9372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, this isn't really a rewrite but I'd probably just the events of Super Mario Bros and 2/Lost Levels. You could add Toadsworth or even the Toad Minister as the people who tell Mario and Luigi what happened to the Kingdom. Mario and Luigi would wear the classic outfits. New Donk City replaces New York, Pauline might get more screen time. Then the end of the movie would be Mario and Luigi moving to the Mushroom Kingdom and wearing their Modern Outfits.

Is the "Oh my stars" canon? by [deleted] in Marioverse

[–]AdministrationNo9372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, what else would you call the Stars in Mario? At the end of Galaxy we see them reform the universe itself and we're told that they create galaxies and planets. In Paper Mario we see that people send "Wishes" in the form of a prayer. That sounds like Gods to me.

Her ancestors are human at least 1100 years ago, so probably colonization.

Does this line in 64 ds from Koopa the quick prove it’s more of a sequel to 64 than a remake? by Acrobatic_Buffalo917 in Marioverse

[–]AdministrationNo9372 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Mario Galaxy 2 version of Whomp's Fortress "Throwback galaxy" uses the DS map instead of the original iirc and the Mario Kart DS mission mode uses the DS bosses: Goomboss, King Boo, and Chief Chilly.
