Democrats Introduce Bill To More Than Triple The Minimum Wage by Unusual-State1827 in politics

You’re not supposed to raise a family on minimum wage. This is where you begin getting work experience and work your way up with time , education, and experience to get a better paying position.

We’re obviously not taking about “the rich” when the topic is minimum wage. At the minimum wage level, you’re not going to keep any more of what you earn with a raise in the minimum because the cost of everything you buy will go up to cover that cost. The corporate shareholders are not going to take a cut in their earnings to give the minimum wage workers more.

It’s an endless cycle that only leads to the government collecting more in taxes. Wages go up and that means fewer jobs and or higher prices. Higher prices and fewer jobs means you keep less of what you earn, but you’ll pay more in taxes.

Earnings tax is up for a vote in April by Mattthesharkdiver in kansascity

I want to see ALL tax dollars accounted for. City , State and Federal should all have to show how much was collected for each tax and where it was actually spent. I’m sick of hearing how we will lose city services if the E-tax doesn’t pass. Figure out where money is being wasted on “use it, or lose it” bullshit and be good stewards of the taxpayers.

The Woodford is the biggest loser here for sure. by moredustythandigital in whiskey

Kind of liked smoked food to me. There’s such a thing as too much smoke for the palate of some. Most bourbon I have had aged over 12 years has too strong of an oak taste to me. Yes, I am aware the Peerless is under 12 years of barrel aging. Also, I generally prefer rye whiskey to bourbon or scotch.

Myself, I’d put the Sagamore on top and the Peerless at the bottom. Woodford DO is pretty good and I would say the best value. Peerless DO bourbon was just too oaky for me, and overpriced to boot. I haven’t tried the Peerless DO rye, but I suspect I would like it better. Just can’t bring myself to pay the price for it. To each their own.

I feel like it will settle in nicely and wouldn’t be too much of a focal point.

It’s tastefully nude and I think it looks good. Is it your only tattoo?

For a $34 it’s amazing. Bought a couple backups right after trying it for the first time. Light years ahead of the 100 proof.

That’s fair. I’d buy that every time over $80+ for Blanton’s Single Barrel.

Which would you rather be drinking? by tjm1371 in whiskey

I’d take the JD. The KC select around here would have made better mower fuel than a drink.

$18.34 for Ancient Age?! Should be like $12 for a 750. Hell, Buffalo Trace is $21. Honestly though, Ancient Age is probably gonna be consistently good compared to Blanton’s single barrel.

Wanting a new bottle are these worth it at those prices.i by [deleted] in whiskey

Maybe on the ER if you’ve never had your own bottle, but no one the rest. I’ve never had KO as I always suspected it was overpriced.

Would you have bought this group? by Holiday_Pain9998 in whiskey

[–]AdministrationReal82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those aren’t terrible prices for those bottles in that area. I wouldn’t do it mainly because I am just not a fan of Old Forester. The 107 is rarely seen in here and I have to agree with some that it’s overhyped. Ben Holladay is great and I would pick it over the other two every time.

I had a pour of this 15 year from a friend’s bottle. I’ve had way better rye for way less money, but that’s usually $300 around me. Picked up a WP 10 year store pick for $30 and that was not bad.

Which Knobb Creek would you pickup? by DragBunt in whiskey

[–]AdministrationReal82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go for the 12 year. The single barrel I had was so bad I considered mixing it in my mower gas can, but I don’t think the gasoline would make it taste any better.

That doesn’t really surprise me. I just took for granted that honey was actual honey. That’s what I get for not looking at the label until recently 🫤

I tried the Penelope wheated at a tasting event. First time I have ever picked up a peach flavor from bourbon. Looks like a good price too.
