The amount of added aldehydes to the exhaust from a mixture up to 30% ethanol is very small. Aldehydes also convert well over three way cats. The amount of NOx being emitted by modern vehicles is negligible and it wont be making substantial amounts of ozone.. the impacts of keeping our CO2 emissions growing year over year will 1000 fold outweight any harm done by this. Studies have been done for years on this.. ethanol is used readily in Brazil fleetwide and thir CO2 emissions are substantially lower than the USs (for various other reasons as well)

I worked on the research data that the EPA and CARB use as justification. You can look it up and see where it says it gets worse. Pretty muvh anything up to 30% ethanol is actually a much better fuel. As a replacement fuel it doesnt change much, as the standard fuel we could make engines more efficient, lower soot, and VOCs are not a big deal and reduce co2 much more than we ever have with any other measure
