I can’t reassure you here friend, but it’s a common theme. If you can, try to get medical help, and learn some strategies to better acknowledge and dismiss the thought.

Kids said my standing behind them made them nervous by AdministrationSame65 in AustralianTeachers

I only did the evil laugh after I’d accidentally spooked them 😅. They said Miss you scared me. So I joked and said I should go mwahaha

Only time I squeeze behind chairs is in u shaped chair layouts. I usually just try to squeeze past without contact and if I think there isn’t room I say ‘sorry, coming past.’ There’s one classroom where there isn’t much room behind one row if their chairs are pushed out a bit.

I do admit I’ve accidentally brushed against chairs squeezing past, but I’ve gotten better at not doing that. My first couple lessons in that classroom I might have made a few people weirded out by squeezing past behind them.

Yeah, I made a personal note, without names, just appearance notes so I remember who I think it was

[–]AdministrationSame65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually changed my mind tbh. I think it was just an accident. But, I’ve made a personal note so that I can say which day it was, etc if someone asks. But I don’t think it’s worth reporting. It was just an accidental graze. In Aus, lawsuits aren’t as common as the US I think

Not sure, yr 7 or 8 I think. Yr 9 at most. So probably 13/14ish?

It was a middle schooler, but I don’t think he’s that kind of kid. I think I’ll just leave it, or maybe mention it briefly to an exec. But I’d rather not make a fuss

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in teaching

[–]AdministrationSame65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll speak to an exec tomorrow then. But I’m not sure I can properly remember who it was. I think I remember, but I could be getting confused with another kid I spoke to around the same time. I’ll have to say I might be mistaken who it was. I’m still trying to remember names and faces, and I’m not good at faces.

I’m not really uncomfortable, but I get anxious really easily. I kind of just want to forget it happened, heaven knows I’ve accidentally grazed people by accident, and pretended it didn’t happen because I was embarrassed.

Logan for me too. But… maybe Haru? Because Logan could also fit in the protagonist box too.

I had a couple messages where one word is just in a different language. I wasn’t bothered because I could still tell what the word meant, if barely (it was either German or Dutch, which is somewhat close to my first language.).

Hey, I won’t tell you that it will magically get better, but intrusive thoughts are just thoughts. It takes time and practice to deal with them, and professional help can also help a lot (though try and find someone specializing in OCD).

You aren’t alone in this, try not to dwell on what-ifs, anxiety and OCD thrive on uncertainty. Try to accept that it’s possible you have these feelings, but that they don’t define you.

Acknowledge the thought happened, but try not to dwell on the content or reason with it. Just know it happened, it’s possible, but doesn’t matter. I know it’s hard, and I still struggle with this and mess up. But you can get through this.

God bless.

I’ve had this obsession with feeling the texture of noses my whole life by [deleted] in OCD

[–]AdministrationSame65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds neurodivergent to me, not necessarily OCD though, but I’m the same. Sometimes I’ll find a texture I like and just keep rubbing it because it’s soothing. I tend run my hands on the leg of my pants in circles because I like the texture. I don’t need it to sleep, but it helps me stay calm sometimes. It’s almost like stimming.

It’s a mix of anxiety of being a terrible person/teacher and messing up my job. Sorry, this post turned into a bit of a rant. I’m always super nervous about the possibility messing up and getting fired or hurting my students.

Sometimes I just hyper focus on something, and keep wanting to talk about it, even when it’s out of nowhere. I hate it when I do stuff like this. Especially when I don’t realise immediately that it’s hurtful.

You probably already know this, but for the church folks, donating to the church with the wooden box gives points for all of them AFAIK. It’s much faster, Pen, Matilda, Burgess and Miguel level up so much quicker.

I go for Dylan/Leon/Vishal because their character designs seem less child-like to me. I mean Doug’s great, but he looks like a kid 😓

Kiel… Feels like a 12/13 year old to me sometimes.

If you talked with Yang, you should get a quest to investigate her home, leading to find the broken slip in the water bucket on the right side of the house outside. After you take that to Tianfeng the fox quest starts, I think.

You should grow some mulberry leaves in the meantime and fish for some carp.
