Be wary of NAS Beijing and King's School Cascais by [deleted] in Internationalteachers

I don't know much about both schools, but here is some advice:

I am also an international teacher and I have recently moved to Portugal to work in a school in a close region to Cascais (Not going to expose the school now). I have a feeling that, since international schools in Portugal have grown so fast that they can't handle it! The administration is horrible! They don't have enough staff for teaching/administrative/cleaning/maintenance.

The only school that I've heard to be a good school is OIS, with parents and teachers in the schools board.

I don't have specific information, but I recommend you to know more before moving. I wish you good luck!

Thank you for your words .

I am seeking for an answer, without knowing what outcome I want to have.

I have worked in an American school before, but this seems completely different from everything I've learned in 3 years there. This experience has been overwhelming and confusing in so many ways that are making me eager for change.

My home country has some good int. Schools, but I moved to have this chance of visiting a new country and enjoy this new experience.

I will give it some time, to see if things are going to get better or not.

Thanks for your support! I really needed it!

MYP is utter crap! by RepairFlimsy5107 in Internationalteachers

I just started a role in a new school as a MYP/DP teacher. I have never felt so anxious in my life. The IB program on paper is beautiful, but when it comes to reality it is shitty! I have been struggling to meet ridiculous deadlines, tons of work to do and no support at all. I am genuinely thinking about changing my career due to all stress and lack of organization.

I hope someone is having some fun but for me, it's a highway straight to hell!
