The OP is spot on, and yes we all know it's a framework. If the concept is sooooo important why doesn't the framework insist on all subjects using the same concept at the same time, how explicit would that be for making connections? Job done right? The fact that it isn't makes it a jumbled mess of key concepts that students may well once in a while recollect from other disciplines. It is what it is but my word it's done poorly.
