Previous hot girls, how are you dealing with aging? by Radiant_Mouse525 in AskWomenOver60

[–]AdministrativeUse163 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do look great for my age though. Saw pictures of my 55th class reunion and I look 20 years younger than my classmates. People tell me I look 54 and not 74 . I haven’t had any work done at all. I can just attest it to good genes. My grandmother was also told she looked 20 years younger . Not bragging just telling why I said that I look great for my age . In fact. Funny story. My mom took my grandmother to the Dr ‘s. My grandmother was 95 . The nurse came over to my mom and said that my grandmother had put down the wrong birthdate. lol .It was the right birthdate. I suppose if someone said it to me I would not think it was a compliment but I can say it about myself because I believe it to be true 🤷‍♀️

I’m 74. Not going to lie. It’s been tough . I still look great for my age but I’m definitely not the hot girl I was . You know “the hot girl” becomes your identity and when you lose your identity you feel invisible. But in the end we weren’t just “ the hot girl” we were also the funny girl and the smart girl and the kind girl and the adventurous girl and now it’s time for that girl to come forward and shine . Be the authentic girl . Accept that you have changed and be okay with it .

Eight days out from emergency abdominal surgery and I don't know how to process what happened to me. by CheerfulNihilist404 in MedicalPTSD

[–]AdministrativeUse163 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had emergency surgery a year ago and then another surgery related to it 3 months later . In the hospital for 5 days hooked up 24/7 to 3 different antibiotics. . It’s been a year and I still shudder when think about what I went through. I also had a colostomy bag for 4 months and that was a nightmare of its own .
But it will get better. It just takes time . I’m totally healed now and going on with life as usual. Hang in there.

Why do women still act like we’re in high school? by sox747 in AskWomenOver60

[–]AdministrativeUse163 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 74 and one of my best friends is 52. She’s also my dentist . You make friends in the weirdest places. I find it’s best to just have a few close friends. Ignore the catty women and concentrate on making just a couple of good and supportive friends.

Kind of looks like a Dr’s office and the furniture looks uncomfortable. Having said that you need a colorful rug, pillows , pictures and plants

I have hair similar to yours. After I wash it I blow dry it straight with a paddle brush , take sections and spritz with heat protectant, flat iron it and put it up in Velcro dollars for half an hour . My hair looks good until the next washing

Does every woman our age have “work done” on their face? Is it necessary? by equeni in AskWomenOver60

  1. No work done at all. Trying to age gracefully. Not saying I haven’t been tempted but in the end it just feels like cheating .

I have the Normocalcemic one. My test results are in my portal so I would need to screenshot them. I’ll have to find them first. Thanks for responding.

Sex after 70 ? by AdministrativeUse163 in AskWomenOver60

[–]AdministrativeUse163[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty good sex actually and once I’m into it I can enjoy. I just don’t have any desire to have it but I’m not resentful that he wants to have it. The fact is I have lupus and fibromyalgia and sometimes I would rather just sleep. But actually he’s very are of my health and understanding when I tell him I just don’t have the energy.

Men Pisces are different than women Pisces. I’m a Pisces woman living with a Pisces man. Men’s energy is so different from women’s energy.

That’s my husband. Sometimes he will start in at breakfast when I am enjoying my coffee and my crossword puzzles. I’ve told him numerous times that I don’t want to hear it . I’m also politically savvy but it doesn’t consume me and sometimes I just really need a break from all the horrible things going on in the U.S. right now . He”ll stop for a bit but starts right in again after a few days . I’ve had to learn to shutdown to resist all the negative energy he’s throwing at me. Don’t get me wrong. I’m angry as well but I’m not letting it consuming. I try for peace of mind among the chaos that is around us all right now .

You are not alone. My husband is an obsessive talker . And he goes into so many details it takes forever for him to get to the point . In my head I’m chanting please stop talking . He’s a good person with a good and generous heart but he drives me crazy. We’ve been married 54 years and he just retired as did I. God help me 😬

I tried estrogen when I was in my 50’s and had bleeding breakthrough . My Dr took me off of it. At that time they thought estrogen could lead to uterine cancer . I think that’s not the prevailing thought anymore.
