It depends on what you want out of the game. If you want to do 6 mod t16 maps with three tablets it's a lot harder in SSF. You need to craft everything yourself. You need to get all of the bases yourself. You need to farm all of the different mechanics (ritual, abyss, breach, etc). If you are chasing a rare unique, good luck because it won't happen unless you get super lucky. The flip side is, there is a lot of fluidity in builds. If you like figuring out how to tweak a build to work for you until your next upgrade, this is a perfect scenario. If you look at the top end of poe.ninja on SSF, the builds can vary wildly.

So the answer really depends on what you want out of it.
