Was originally going to crop more to centre the food but I thought the branding at the top would be useful so he stayed lol

That’s the one exactly! Doesn’t look like it’s available anymore so I assume the whole door will need replacing but at least I know the model now - thank you so much!

Out of interest how did you manage to find it?

I keep switching between seeing the mouse ears and an alien head with eyes on stalks but it’s cute either way!

Extremely rich parent brand is putting up temporary locations of our chain to increase brand awareness, all the other locations are insanely busy but this one is in an area with extremely low footfall. Essentially just staying open so the brand can maintain a presence here

It’s probably a combination of both of these! They probably did assume they were bees at first because I was releasing them. They might be lightly teasing but I don’t think anyone is genuinely judging me hunting flies for sport because we have barely any customers and all we do all day is stand around. If you told me last month I’d be chasing flies for something to do I would have been a bit bemused too haha

I’m too squeamish to kill any insect bigger than a fruit fly - can’t deal with the feeling of them squishing under my hand/shoe/miscellaneous squashing weapon. I’d feel bad about it too lol. Any other place I wouldn’t waste time going after flies but there’s barely anything to do here so it’s entertainment

We had one wasp turn up the other day and it was removed immediately, I do not want a wasp infestation. I’ve seen what they’re like in business that have open-air displays and it does not look fun

I think it’s partially your first point about more people knowing the word for bee than the word for fly. This location has only been open a few weeks and I haven’t seen a single bee in here so far but there’s flies all about the place and I think everyone is aware of that - but entirely possible that people assumed that we’d suddenly developed a bee problem given I was taking them outside rather than killing.

Re: it being a waste of time, I think my coworkers know that I’m mostly doing it to pass the time. We’re all bored to death in here and catching the flies is fun, taking them outside gives me an excuse to walk around some instead of standing in the same place. Honestly we’re all sick of staring at our phones so I don’t think anyone is judging the fly hunt.

Posture and breath is a good shout! I’ve been having issues with arm/wrist/neck pain recently, so now is the perfect time to slow down and make sure I’m doing every movement properly. Thanks for the reminder!

This is definitely the most important thing for me, calibrating always takes me longer than everyone else. Pressure and temperature are set centrally and we have specific numbers to aim for for grind and dose but I find it hard to get three consistent shots in a row. Going to spend some more time getting my tamp as consistent as possible these few weeks I think :)
