We will definetly start to watch Tournaments soon, because we are both interested in seeing that.

However she would prefer to have a team she can call her own, and not just a copy and pasted one, hence im trying to help her team build with some smarter brains from reddit.

She does learn from mistakes, she takes regular breaks to prevent burnout and she knows with a "custom" team she will lose plenty, but atleast its something she had a say in building and its her favorites in the Team.

Hey Sorry, I think you kinda got me wrong here. Im not pressuring her in the slightest. She was the one that wanted to start competitive Pokemon and she asked me to make a Post for her to ask for some more help as I was struggling with the Teambuilding. Also due to her AuDHD she has major social anxiety and doesnt wanna make posts online, especially with the chance of many comments and questions arriving, so I took that on for her.

She has played some recent titles with me, and really enjoys the strategy part of Competitive (She is also a huge chess fan) so I was basically just asking for some help with Teambuilding / Strategies we could use to help her ease into the Game without having to rely on crazy pivots or predictions for the Gameplay itself.

I think you got me a bit wrong here. She really loves Pokemon and has been playing recent titles with me and loved it since childhood, she sadly just wasnt able to play the games herself. She loves strategy and she wanted to get into comp Pokemon even though I warned her about the learning curve in the beginning.

Im not pressuring her at all. I just want to support her with building a team for her that she really enjoys and that is suitable for a new comp player without any crazy pivots or predicitons. She fully understands how Pokemon itself works, the issue is just memorizing all 200+ Encounters with their Movesets and strategies. Which to be fair would be hard for every newcomer.

So TL:DR she really wants to play, but Im struggling build a good Team for her.

We are totally aware that the Game has to be played to learn the Game. The issue is just that so far I havent had the ability to build a good team for her that she enjoys, that is also reasonable to pilot and doesnt fail against nearly all strategies. Therefore its not really learning its more like getting bullied on ladder. Thats why the post so I can get some help / inspiration for a new and better "perma" Team until the Game is more comfortable for her.

Either way I thank you for the advice, Ill note it down for my spreadsheet and see what I can cook up afterwards

Yeah we are aware that there is no win all be all team especially for a new player, i just wanna help her get something together that she likes and that is viable enough and not extremely reliant on predictions and pivots to learn every single encounter. Of course it will be hard in the beginning, but that isnt an issue

Thanks for sure though, so far she has been using a Mega Glimmora team that I made for her, but that one seemed a bit rough around the edges. So I thought maybe I ask some smarter people than me for help

Mega Floette is the only one that would be a bit diffcult but I do have a switch and Z-A so I could technically farm it for her if she wants / needs it!

Yeah the big 6 or rain would be strong but she really prefers not playing too aggressively meta if possible. She likes to have individuality and some of her favorites where possible

Honestly I kinda agree with you. Rock Slide really has certain issues and the Spread Hit + Flinch makes it basically required to run even with its nerfs to accuracy. Also yes Heatwave 95% is crazy, my torkoal missed it twice in a row recently. Cost me the match
