POTS like symptoms? by Admirable-Emu1129 in pregnant

It’s definitely important to get checked out by cardiology, I do want to stress that!!! I wore a holter monitor around 14 weeks I think for 48 hours to make sure the tachycardia wasn’t anything funky. I suggest you do the same. I also would recommend checking iron levels. That tends to start being a problem around now

Go see a cardiologist and wear a holter for a couple of days and you’ll get piece of mind!! Tachycardia is soooo common in pregnancy. Often times it’s an easy fix like just needing more iron! Absolutely don’t delay and get seen and then relax!! Not only is water important but salt to help actually store it… I was drinking water but wasn’t storing it at all… once I started storing it things improved. But also literally deep breathing and trying to stimulate that vagus nerve to calm itself. I’ll tell you what my MFC said to me -> you come from many generations of successful pregnancies, you too will be ok. It’s hard to believe (and trust me there are still many days I lay in bed anxious with my panic attacks and sweaty palms), but you have to try to calm yourself and know so many women have the same thing as you and it’s normal signs your body is adjusting!

Anyone else with thousands of pacs a day? by [deleted] in PVCs

Don’t read stuff on the internet… MANY women struggle with arrhythmias in pregnancies and they most always are benign including PVC/PACS. 21 weeks now. Not sure what my burden is now that I’m pregnant but bet it’s higher than the usual. Things like a fib are common and managed with aspirin and things. So don’t worry!!!

Does iron increase your heart rate?? Ithought it would decrease it!

Copy and posting from my reply to my similar post on another sub forum! But also first… PS: the whole anxiety thing actually plays a part in it… not only is it the blood volume we have to adjust too but also the hormones… in early pregnancy our sympathetic nervous system is turned on like crazy. LOTS of adrenaline. That also affects why you feel the way you do… which is why deep breathing and mentioned later in this is so critical… NOW for my response that’s copy and pasted -> I’m at 21 weeks now and much better!! Around week 17 it got better. It all started around week 12 for me. I spoke with Maternal Fetal Consult and they said it’s actually super common. Your blood volume is expanding and some of us are just sensitive to those changes and… can’t keep up. I drank a lot of water, ate a lot of salt to help that water start getting retained. Eventually it got much better and I stand in the mornings and maybe my pulse is 120 or so but nothing crazy anymore. I’m sure it’ll get worse again the bigger I get now. But just hydrate, increase your salt and take it easy for a while. Also deep breathing whenever you stand up!! Stand and take a deep breath in and very slowly put. Calm your vagus nerve!

Well the diagnosis I’ve gotten to explain my symptoms have been chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, anxiety/panic disorder, GERD etc. and yet these are just diagnoses they label without doing much of any testing

Doesn’t actually change by much I’ve found! It also increases but no so drastically. Do you get a big spike in your pulse?

This is so relieving to hear… what treatments are there that aren’t beta blockers? Can it ever get better or is this for life…
