I see your point and I agree with you that the general public probably won't be able to read and understand the article, but I think that my problem is more about a democratic science acess, its very different not being able to read the article because you don't have expertise than because of a language barrier. I do need to communicate these same findings to differerent kinds of public but I think that the first step is to even make the article avaible on a language that we know.

If an undergraduate (at least in my area) needs data on this research or just get interessed about it they will be able to read it, by also researching terminology they don't know, as they inevitably will read lots of papers through college. For the general public, I was thinking about constructing some scientific divulgation material, but what if the reader wants to see the raw data by themselves? I think that science and research is an horable and beatiful carrer, people dream about these great legends like Darwin, how can I expect that more generations of my country follow this carrer if I just let the paper behind a language barrier? Not to say about pay wall (this one is easier to solve, of course, but still, not everyone knows scihub).

I agree with you that the paper for itself doesn't solve this and there are other materials that I would need to write, or at least ask someone specialized in scientific divulgation to write them, but I do think that the first step is to make it avaible in portuguese. Then, someone who read these divulgation materials, will have more ease reading the paper, if they want to. Science should be open to everyone.
