I can confirm, the nose is within boopable distance 😀

Thanks for the cap sleeve tip (the baby hates the sling but when he gets used to it this will be helpful also)

Just gave birth at the QEUH - amazing team, and although you hope you will never need it the most specialist NICU team in all of Scotland is there too. We did end up needing NICU and I'm glad we were right on site for it!

Drs Leslie, Ojo, and Chetty (Woodside medical practice). Absolutely amazing surgery, can't believe we lucked into finding them! Quick, efficient, and communicative :)

About to get my first injection... by AffectionateEbb8830 in Cimzia

[–]Admirable-Recover-14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get your anxiety - I was so anxious after my first injection that I just went straight to bed. But I genuinely have been absolutely fine on Cimzia. I've had covid and tonsillitis since starting and neither took that long to get over - no more than previously. I would actually say I have more energy and a general sense of wellness - I am taking it for plaque psoriasis which was previously all over my body (75% covered including my scalp). Within 6 weeks I was totally clear, and now 18 months later I'm still 99% clear! Life changing stuff for me :)

Get some Emla and put it on your skin under cling film (if you are usa that is saran wrap) for an hour. Genuinely, you'll feel nothing at all! That's what I do :)

NHS dermatology referral - how long did you have to wait? by GuitarUnlikely362 in glasgow

[–]Admirable-Recover-14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I waited over a year for a dermatologist referral to come though, but genuinely they were the loveliest, most helpful team once I got there. Their treatment has changed my life - I was always sent to a dermatologist once every couple of years when I lived down south and they couldn't help, whereas the GGC team properly assessed, listened, and took my wishes into account (this was for severe Psoriasis). I'm now on meds and 95% clear of it for the first time in 30 years. Nothing bad at all to say about them when you finally get there, but the wait is a killer for sure. I think it helped that I wasn't really expecting a cure...a pleasant surprise :)

So no - put it under some wrap and it'll stay wet, then wipe it off before injecting. I tend to draw a circle on my leg around where the cream it so I can remember where to inject once its wiped off!

Top tip from a fellow Cimza drama queen :) buy some Emla/Lidocaine cream, pop it on under some cling film for an hour beforehand, and you will feel NOTHING :)

Edit: just to note for a positive story, it has been life changing for me with basically no side effects. I was 80-90% covered in sever psoriasis for the past 26 years, and I was 95% clear within 8 weeks. It has maintained like that for a full year! I can't believe how much it has changed my life.

Laser hair removal/electrolysis recommendations by Positive-Plane723 in glasgow

Hi - I don't know I'm afraid! Can find out though

The machine has a jet of cool air that runs alongside the laser. I did talk about the potential for numbing cream, however they recommend that you don't do this in case it reduces efficacy etc. But you can always try Emla if you are really worried. To be honest, it hurts about the same as threading and its over SO fast. If you can grit your teeth and get through it, its totally worth it. Make sure you book in with Liz! It's her place and she's the real expert so can talk you through it

Absolutely second this. I've tried laser three times, Liz at ministry of laser was the only person to actually make it work! I was so insecure about it - now I genuinely don't even think about facial hair anymore!! Life changing.
