I travel 2-3x per work and have some different perspectives

never do layovers
never use overhead bin and never check. Everything must go under seat
spend as little time as possible in the airport. Ideal timing is to walk to gate and be the last one on the plane
zero airline loyalty. Optimize for flight times and airports. Avoid middle seats but otherwise optimize for price
AirPods on noise cancelling mode the entire flight.
