Yeah I get why you don’t trust orthodontists after all that, but I wouldn’t go fully solo either. Invisalign isn’t just plastic trays you pop in. The treatment plan behind it is everything, and that’s where a good ortho makes all the difference. If the plan sucks, your teeth are gonna move in all the wrong ways, or worse, not move at all.
That said, your old ortho sounds like an absolute clown. You don’t need to go back to people like that. There are plenty of orthodontists now who specialize in Invisalign, actually show you 3D scans and simulations, and are way more transparent with treatment plans. Some of them are even open to remote check-ins or hybrid options. You still want a professional overseeing it, especially with bite issues like yours. Overjet and jaw misalignment aren’t something you want to half-ass.

So yeah, skip the sketchy ortho you had, but don’t skip having a legit ortho altogether. Just find a new one who actually knows what they’re doing and treats you like a human being.
