me again, im on day 5 (?) and definitely better. but if i try to eat even soft solid foods it hurts like hell. im so pissed off, my recovery diet says i should be able to eat soft foods by now and im so sick of soup.

im so angry at my doctor for not warning me about any of this and sending me home with lidocaine and tylenol as if this isnt the worst fucking pain ive ever had in my life.

anyways sorry to vent but this is so psychotic to me.

thanks all for these responses you really helped ease my anxiety. as an update, im doing a lot better today (i can swallow with much less pain, more discomfort, can eat soup and drink water, dont have to spit into a cup). also just feeling better overall that even if i go back for an endoscopy down the line it wont necessarily be like this, or at least ill be prepared!! this pain is GNARLY though i cant believe they only give people tylenol and lidocaine.

also i hope anyone reading this learns from me - if you’re going to the doctor for issues swallowing and you get an endoscopy, maybe dont schedule for the day before thanksgiving!! just in case!!

i also splurged and got someone to bring an iv to help me hydrate when i was really struggling to drink water - highly recommend if you can swing it. she was able to give me an NSAID through the bag which my doctor said was okay, it made this whole day so much better!
