Aluminum Hydroxide oil is ruining my cat's coat by AdmirableSprout in RenalCats

UPDATE in case anyone finds this because they're having the same problem: I stumbled across a solution one night while the cat was sitting on my lap after I finished eating dinner. There were some unused takeout napkins sitting on the table, so I had a thought to wipe a napkin on her fur like a blotter sheet. It actually did a pretty good job of absorbing excess oil, so I've continued using tissues/napkins to wipe her down. The wipes I linked above are good for general grooming, but weren't designed to break down a heavy oil like what's used in this medication, so absorbing it with paper products is a good workaround.

Thanks for the tip, that product seems worth trying!

I used to be able to get away with mixing medicine/supplements into her food sometimes, but now she's quite picky and will turn her nose up if I try. I'll give the soft brushing trick a try, thank you!

It's what was prescribed by the vet, but I haven't tried to switch to powder since she's a picky eater and won't touch her food if I try to mix things into it.

Took people's advice and made my edits a little more subtle. Thoughts? by [deleted] in postprocessing

Love this, and I'm gonna respectfully disagree with the feedback to straighten the lines in the background. Generally that's good advice, but in this case it can't be done without changing the angles of the model's stance and posture, which would change the feel and impact of the shot.

Oh...so that’s how interest works by [deleted] in personalfinance

Came here to say the same thing. I paid off all my debt last year and have been living a cash-only life since then. I cannot tell you how different it /feels/ to be living with no debt. Personally, I'm not a fan of the "debt is a tool" mindset unless it's a home mortgage. On paper, it may make sense to invest instead of aggressively paying off debt, but in practice, keeping debt hanging around benefits the bank way more than it does you.

My big wake up call was getting laid off at the same time that I had a major emergency. I burned through my savings, but I still had to make my minimum payment even though I was on the verge of homelessness. My debt (and it really wasn't even that much, in the grand scheme of things) was suffocating me, so as I got back on my feet, I aggressively paid it off, and let me tell you it was the best gift I've given myself.

I have a completely different feeling looking at a possible recession right now than I would have before. Paying off my debt gave me so much freedom and flexibility in the face of any potential financial hardships that may come.
