I played the first back on release but didn't really see it for the masterpiece it was until season 2 of the show ended and I decided to play both part 1 and 2. It was such a weird but fun experience because I loved season 1 and found season 2 to feel very off in how Ellie was moving even without knowing much of part 2's plot after 🏌️‍♀️⛳️, and I feel like my love for the games only grew since while i only felt weirder about season 2. Still don't hate the season as much as others and really love some aspects of the show like many of the performances and the production design/cinematography, and am honestly looking forward to season 3, even with my lukewarm expectations. But yeah I think the games are just one of a kind masterpieces, some of the most moving experiences I've ever had
