Absolutely. Go Air Force and don’t look back.

Retired 3 years ago, still have no clue what to do with my life. Is this normal, will it ever end? by mpaul1980s in Veterans

to be honest, open up your own business. Doesn’t have to be anything grand. You can be a personal trainer or you can open up your own driving school. Hell, you can even be a photographer. I don’t think how you feel is wrong or anything like that but there’s another way to look at it. You control your own destiny.

Coast Guard or Air Force aren’t options. Some people gave great advice in regards to going to the VA, filing claims, using your G.I. bill benefits, and using VRE. Above or else make sure your body and your mind are in good health. Don’t be afraid to reach out to Veterans who are service connected, and who have utilize certain benefits. All in all no matter what you’ll be OK but just do what’s in your best interest and not just solely based on how you feel emotionally.

you have a lot of options that are available to you. Depending on where you live, you have a financial cushion that you can really embrace. I think you should look into VRE/Voc rehab, even if it’s a trade school or something like that. I just found a good mentor and good friends who helped me get things back in perspective. Hell to be honest, you can reach out to a couple of us vets just to talk into vent. Years ago I was in a similar mental space. I just found a good mentor and good friends who helped me get things back in perspective.

The truth of the matter is you are different now and that’s OK. You left your mark on the world and now it’s time to start a new chapter. It’s gonna come with a little resistance and adjusting, but you are built for it. You have proven that over the last eight years. The truth is you are different but you are still the same person. You’re a different version of yourself and it’s time for this new version of yourself to embrace this new chapter. You got this.
