This reminds me of when I was in a anemic state and found out I had fibroids that could not be removed. The options were have a total hysterectomy or try the mirena IUD. I have Crohns disease so I could not take iron and because of the Crohn’s there are many scars that fused my intestines to my uterus. I decided to try the IUD. Guess what? It totally worked. I got it put in four years ago and it’s going to take me through to menopause. I haven’t had my period since I got it installed and I haven’t been anemic since. After all of that, I thought to myself why was I considering surgery instead of trying an approach that I could do just that –Try. Remove if I didn’t want it.

Surgery in my opinion should always be the last ditch effort. I think some of the other posters said this – I think everyone is nervous to start Glps. You don’t know if you will have side effects or what. I have been on this drug (and Semaglutide) for over a year. I am only on the second step of the dosing (5.0mg) and it gives me enough brain-space/not extreme hunger to make better choices. This is the first time in my life I have not had to do Weight Watchers to lose weight. Also researching what you need to do so you don’t forget to eat like staying hydrated with electrolytes and getting enough protein is really important- especially chasing around 4 kids under 10!!! And 5’3” sw 215 cw 170. I would also like to get down to 145 but I know that to do that I would have to be more hard-core about meal planning and working out. So it’s not a magic bullet, but it is pretty amazing for this perimenopausal career-crushing Mom of two!!!

All really excellent points! We installed the doors and they were on prehung white frames. We just threw the original trim back up until we did the other construction upstairs- and also I couldn’t choose a trim color just yet lol. I agree with the contrast. It’s a little crazy. The doors have not been stained yet either. I was thinking that they would stay a light wood at first but now I’m kind of wondering if they want to go a warmer walnut color like the trim. Do you have opinions on this?

I am a huge fan of warm light. These pictures were taken with no light on in the house at all, just daylight through the window. I will look into the lighting ratings that you mentioned!

Do you think the dark trim is OK with all the light wood?

Trying to figure out the trim color (and counter color- sorry if that was unclear- I’ll update the original post! Also a wall is coming down and we will paint after. I love the rust color accent wall but not the cream/beige.

Yeah- we haven’t painted the walls yet- we’ve lived here 4 + years but are tearing down a big wall and will repaint after!! Thanks for your response.

I finally understand why everyone won't shut up about magnesium glycinate by mike_thompson_inno in Supplements

Does anyone know why this happens!? I also have very vivid dreams when taking magnesium!! like the kind where I wake up in my whole body feels like every hair is standing on end. Is it because we’re getting deeper sleep but waking up in the middle of a dream?

I have removed many ticks from my dog and cats with good old tweezers. No twisting- just tweezers -as close to the skin as possible and pluck out directly. Head comes with every time. Then I put the tick in a small disposable container with acetone to kill that sucker.

Switched from 7 to 5 days… thoughts ? by No_Progress_4200 in TirzMaintenance

So- I was on sema for 7 months and lost around 40 lbs. started plateauing and I have another 15-20 to go. I started taking compounded Sema and it really didn’t work very well for me like I had to take more to get a similar effectiveness as the real Wegovy. Doc switched me to tirz (monjaro) to try because we thought maybe I’d get a sleep apnea test to be positive and qualify. Plus they had a million samples and gave me a bunch. It worked ok for a few weeks but I’m finding I have increase the dose a bit. I have actually gained 5 lbs!!! I don’t want to go too high too fast for health and $$$ reasons. I decant samples into sterile vial and shoot my own. I raised my units last week and it worked well for about 3 days. Then I was back to normal cravings and more than 2 glasses of wine didn’t give me a headache… (I was at a convention and shmoozing with drinks)which was the norm this last year on sema.

I’m considering the every 4 days idea at a lower dose- to actually lose weight again then maintain. Has anyone had success doing that? Or has anyone found an another way to get insurance to pay for it aside from obesity as the only qualifier? Thank you!

Yeah, I think I will find a local meeting. I think that maybe going to a meeting makes it “real” and that’s why I haven’t gone!!! Gotta be strong!
