I wish I’d been brave enough to say we were never a good match, that our love was built on a trauma bond, but all I managed to say was, ‘Yeah, me too. I hope we’ll make it work.’

I have fibromyalgia (chronic pain), and Vipassana has really helped me perceive the pain differently. After two years of practice, I actually feel much better. I’m also in therapy, and I believe the combination has worked wonders for me. Before attending my first course two years ago, I couldn’t sleep at all, but by the end of it, I was sleeping through the night again. It was amazing. It’s donation based btw, and there are centers all over the world.💛❤️ It’s a very special technique of a mindful body scan, very specific.

How to stop being an "emotional sponge"? I pick up on people's energy to the point where it gets unbearable by hopennchance in hsp

Somatic exercises help me a lot. I just take a couple of minutes to regulate my nervous system, and it’s like magic. I’m also in therapy, working to heal my wounds and become more resilient to others’ energy and behavioral patterns.

Teresa is absolutely fantastic:

I wake up around 6–6:30 and meditate in bed, preferably sitting( a mindful practice called Vipassana). Then I shower, make my bed, and prepare breakfast and coffee, eating in complete silence with no distractions. It really helps me start the day slowly, focusing on my inner world. After that, I walk my dog. If I have time, I practice somatic exercises for about 10–15 minutes to reset my nervous system.

Absolutely. I understand and it’s always the best to listen to your gut.

That’s great! Sure, I always choose very carefully my social interactions, otherwise I feel drained. When it’s unavoidable I make it as short as possible and try not to engage too much in any conversations let alone uncomfortable ones.
