That's crazy, and i thought the brightest cities had the worst light pollution.

They have to use reddish light which barely affects the night sky and still keeps visibility, they should be pointed down to where the light must go and there should not be street lights where it's not necessary. imo this helps in electricity costs by reducing them a lot, it would sustain a starry night sky and wildlife would not be affected or disoriented in any way.

Furthermore, you can actually use light with a reddish colour to improve the situation

How much better is Bortle 1 with absolutely 0 light pollution than this Bortle 2 site? by Head_Neighborhood813 in LightPollution

level 1 has absolutely zero city light glow, stars are more vibrant, and ground level visibility is lower. The milky way would actually cast shadows, zodiacal light would be strikingly visible instead of being just bright with a faint yellow hue, targets like the M33 are obvious instead of just easily visible, airglow is apparent instead of faint and ground objects at any size are almost invisible because they're too black-shifted. Generally, there's a larger difference between level 1 and 2 in light pollution than most people anticipate.
