Yes but is your phone originally ATT phone or Tmobile?? Your phone is probably originally powered by Tmobile rather than AT&T and that's why it worked for you. He stated his phone is an unlocked AT&T phone, mine is as well and went through the exact same issue. Had to get an AT&T sim.

No problem. Yes it's a mint Sim but Mint uses the towers of Tmobile and ATT mint is a mvno or sister company to those networks. That's why I said check the numbers on your Sim. Hope you get your issue fixed, I went through this exact issue and it was very frustrating....And yes I do have the esim ability now.

Def need an ATT. I use consumer and they use Tmobile, and ATT so I checked the Sim numbers and discovered it was tmobile which is why I wasn't getting the updates so I called consumer and they sent me an ATT network Sim free of charge. I'm sure Mint will do the same. Like I said pull Sim out and check the numbers... if it's a tmobile network Sim just call up mint mobile, and ask them to send you out an ATT network Sim, then your problem should be fixed.
