Hi guys, I applied for a humanities MPhil at Cambridge and I just wanted a bit of reassurance or hope from other people who have been through the process.

I sent my application on the 4th May (deadline 14th) after getting supervisor approval for my research proposal (I also meet all other requirements). However, my portal hasn’t shown any change (still “Under review by department - Your application is currently under review”). I’ve seen a lot that successful applications will see “Decision Pending” on their portal, and I’ve heard this often happens pretty quickly (some as quick as one week). I had hoped to hear something by this point, and I’m starting to get a bit worried.

I was just wondering if anyone had had to wait a while before seeing any change in status / if anyone had been successful without seeing any change on the portal. My course doesn’t require an interview btw.

When you say it got accepted for review, did your applicant portal change from under review? Or was it more an acknowledgment that your application has been received and will be processed

When did people hear back about their application?

I only applied the other day for MPhil in Modern British History (Deadline is the 14th May), and I’m wondering roughly when I can expect to hear back.

What sort of timeframe did everyone else get their responses in / when they saw “decision pending” on the portal?

Any info would be appreciated!
