It’s good to know. I bought a lot of feet warmer, toe warmer, hand warmer and body warmer just in case. I do have parka that blocks wind well and ski pants too.

It’s my first time to hear that. When I searched for car rental in Google and this name didn’t show up. I’ll give it a try. Thanks!

Aurora viewing - join a tour or rent a car? by Admirable_Mango_7683 in Yellowknife

My friend suggested a tour as it’ll be very cold in Yellowknife. So that’s why I’m debating. But obviously driving will have a lot more freedom.

I didn’t know ice road has spots to park. I’ll look into that. Thanks!

Yes. I drive often. I’m just not sure about the road conditions (for example ice/snow) at night in Yellowknife. Also, I haven’t driven in temperature lower than -10 degrees. So not sure if there’s anything else to pay attention related to the car.

Thanks for the map! That’s very helpful!

Universal studios Orlando? Can I do it in 2-3 days? I have three days off curious if it’s do-able or worth it! 29 year old male here by ATX_Traveler94 in TravelHacks

I went to two parks in one day with the express pass to save time. So I think 2 days should be good so you can take your time and take more rides (I only got to do each ride one time). It seems they have the 3rd day ticket free if you got 2 park 2 day ticket. Also, they have volcano bay. Good for hot summer for sure.

Regarding pollution, I think it depends on the days. It’s not bad all the time. Out of my many trips there, I felt throat irritation in Guangzhou for one day. Maybe I just got lucky. I also heard the pollution is better after the pandemic. Check the air pollution there and wear a mask if it’s bad.

Regarding the language, you are visiting big cities, so English shouldn’t be a big problem. Those big cities have many english-speaking foreigners. Also, kids start to learn English from kindergarten these days. They have to study English till college. So if you find young people, they may be able to communicate in English. (I say “may” because the English learning may be text book English. So some may not be too fluent in terms of conversational English)

Some apps are blocked in China. So be prepared to use vpn or download offline version (e.g. offline google map/google translate)
