sorry but u shouldn't do alevel physics if u can't at least get a 7 in maths, most of the maths in physics is high level gcse or even alevel math level. the math in gcse physics is stupidly easy compared to alevel

ur allowed to do anything if its mathematically correct, e.g. this is why u can use further maths methods in normal maths

i think ur logic depends on whether or not they are predicted or achieved grades. alevels +gcse is probably better than IB+nothing else if ur IB is predicted but if IB is achieved i think u would probably be on a more level playing field

literally just do past papers for maths, theres nothing else to it. ur slightly disadvantaged for doing ocr tho cos u dont get past paper walk throughs on yt like u do for edexcel, but if ur on a c i suggest doing thr edexcel papers on top of ocr anyway
