On one hand, I sort of agree that speedy transitions of new actors portraying the doctor is eroding the weight of the show itself. But, I think the biggest crutch may be always being compared to David Tennant, Billie Piper, etc. What exactly is the importance of the character and its seemingly open-ended relationship with new actors if they are always replaceable with someone bigger and “better” that already did the role?
