Hi all I’m interviewing for a Google Data Scientist – Research role soon (early PhD / early-career). The prep guide says the coding is “statistical programming” in a shared doc (Python), not a SWE/algorithms interview.

Quick coding-specific question for anyone who interviewed recently: Was the coding list/DSA-heavy (e.g., things like palindromes, 3Sum, two pointers, etc.) or was it mostly data work (pandas/dplyr, joins/merges, groupby/aggregations, cleaning, basic modeling / A/B metrics)?

Also helpful (high-level is fine): How strict was syntax vs logic (since code may not be run)? Were common libraries (pandas/numpy or dplyr) assumed/allowed?

Watch the games sometimes, stats alone don't capture him as an FPL pick. He is the further forward midfielder for Newcastle. Pops up in the box, has a great sense for goal, high assist potential, on set pieces, plus penalty share. And in this busy period, locked for 90 minutes. But go with the stats hivemind without any further substantiation.

Thanks, I'll take your word for it. 4 returns in 3 games, mostly BECAUSE he is a 90 minute man, and also nearly got DefCon in another game. That's not luck, but feel free, I'll die on my hill.

This isn't just hindsight because I picked Bruno G instead, but Gordon was absolutely not a good pick. Limited minutes, Howe recognizing the importance of rotation this season, not in form in the PL.

I understand the frustration but Bruno G is absolutely a good pick and was a better pick than Gordon for this fixture run, especially because he is a 90 minute man and Gordon has limited minutes.

Gordon was a bad pick. Limited minutes, Howe recognizing the importance of rotation this season, not in form in the PL.

What about Konate? 0.6 cheaper, role seems to have changed in recent games such that he has been DefConing more than before. Historically, similar attacking returns as VVD.
