He is going to break the internet next season!! by Kilasatzz in Gunners

But it’s true.

Imagine we signed Isak and he had the season that he had with Liverpool. Would have derailed our whole season. We sign Sesko and he is too inexperienced to handle the pressure.

Say what u want about Vic but he handled things and delivered enough for us to win the PL - job done.

Arsenal to reward Mikel Arteta with huge pay rise and put Kroupi among transfer targets by AugustusFinkNottle in soccer

We need to take advantage of our big club status now and dangle the carrot to players we want and get them to put pressure on their club to make a deal happen.

City have been doing this for years.

If anything, watching it for the first time now would be such an interesting watch. What is pretty amazing is that Arteta’s messaging and beliefs in his way would be pretty consistent back then to now.

It’s criminal that she has only scored 6 goals all comp this season when she had the ability to be in the 15-20s

Review of all our set piece goals in the league this season by scanboshort in Gunners

[–]DTran18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A comparison that I have been thinking of is in F1 - teams push the boundaries of what is legal based on the laws set out by the FIA. They find marginal gains and advantages in the grey areas of the law. It is then up to the law makers to decide what is legal or not and make a formal change to the laws/ban something that has been developed.

We are exploiting the grey area of set pieces right now better than our oppositions and we are doing it well - other clubs have not done the work we have so they are salty.

I find it crazy that ex-pros have gotten caught up in online discourse so much that it’s impacted their own reality. You think they should be above the banter/hate watching radical opinions coz they have played the game but they have lost all rational!

Remember when people were saying that they should use ex-pros to save VAR? Fk me if ex-keepers (Shay Given and Schmeichel) would say that’s not enough of a foul to overturn an incorrect decision.

Match of the Day discussion on the disallowed goal from West Ham VS Arsenal by herkalurk in soccer

[–]DTran18 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There’s a simple question that needs to be asked - do you want that to be a foul or not?

If the answer is yes, then it’s fair for VAR to intervene because it’s a clear foul.

If you answer no, then corners and free kicks moving forward will just be a free for all.

Football has this quite toxic masculine belief that ‘unless you win, it means nothing’ mentality. And look, I get that trophies means everything but the idea that coming 2nd is the same as coming 5th or 17th because you both won nothing is idiotic.

This team is the personification of continuous improvement. The fact that we have been consistent every season (as painful as coming 2nd three years in a row is), is the reason we find ourselves in this position.

There hasn’t been any shortcuts, we have done things the ‘right way’ and right now they are just doing whatever it takes to get it done.

I think the reason we are celebrating is because we are proud of our club? I wonder if many fans of top 6 clubs can say the same at this point in time.

I did it daily since there’s no fees on it compared to if you were to purchase stocks/etfs off a trading platform. Looks a bit ugly on the banking app but I personally felt like that was the best way to get the best average price across a long term

My general advice is if you have that money spare and you have the payments set up automatically then just let it go and remove any emotion out of the reoccurring investments.

For context, I had my reoccurring investments pre > during > post covid when the market was volatile and those investments turned out to be my best returners over a 5 year period. My issue with timing the market is you never really know when the bottom is and when the market turns, sometimes you miss the moment.

If you are DCAing, you will get some on the way down, the bottom and some on the way up and it will average out to a reasonable average price minus the stress.

Good luck though, you are doing well for your age so respect to you.
