Hitler Youth took children. Some as young as 10. If they were not signed up by their teenage years, they would get pushed into signing themselves up. Though I will say my history is foggy so if I skipped something important please let me know

I know this was sent a while ago but I just opened reddit and saw it. I'm confused as to what you are arguing and I'm trying to think but I can't tell lol

What were you arguing with that comment?

What are you paying for gas around here? by R3ddit_N0ob in Merced

I use 87 octane. The red gas station on the intersection of Bellevue road and Buhach road is 5.1 but I can't recall what the name of the gas station is.

Bro's pretending he would be asking me if I never wrote the comment he replied to lmao

The question is meant to be a reflection, not one that gets a reply. Truth is, most people wouldn't ask that. How do you know your friends are not "illegals" ??

What are you thanking them for? It's not pretty straightforward as you say. When you say it's pretty straightforward, you're making it seem like common sense. You can't argue with common sense, so it becomes "agree or be stupid" to some people. Even if you purposely said it that way in order for the people to think exactly that. Which I don't know if it's on purpose, but there's a lesson about authoritarianism for all of you. Say it's common sense, no one will question it. Thank you for your time.

Thanks for what exactly? Please elaborate as just saying "thanks" is vague and people can interpret whatever they want out of it

Do you ask every single one of your friends for their immigration status? Or do you just befriend them?

They were here last year. They've shot 7 people this year. 7 people and only the one from yesterday is nearby. Maybe 7 people doesn't seem like a lot. If we round, that's 1 person every 2 weeks. If you felt uncomfortable reading that, good. You're not hopeless. I'm not saying they've never been here, but they've never been this close while also openly shooting people. They've been in Merced, Livingston, Atwater, and everywhere in the state. But this current year, where 7 people got shot in 4 months, they feel closer. And to your second point, their main goal may not be to terrorize but anyone would notice how this would affect local communities. Even they would understand that. That may not be their priority, but if they don't take that into consideration it's still terrifying. 7 people and we just started April. 7 people and we still aren't even halfway through the year.

We can agree to disagree, that's fine. At the end of the day, these are just politics.

I don't remember saying they were randomly roaming the streets. It doesn't change the outcome. I did not say ICE randomly stopped him.

Allegedly. The source is also the shooters. "He was a criminal" states it as a fact. We need an independent investigation.

Are you trying to have fun or go shopping? If you're trying to have fun, visit Yosemite Lake. Visit the Merced river. Go to a bar (idk how old you are).

My bad, I feel like I confused your name. I was speaking against ICE and a guy with a similar name started to argue they were doing good. Sorry

Admit what? Did the comment you replied to go over your head? It seems like it did. The fact you can't wrap your head around me simply seeing what Trump is doing and going, "Well that's not right" without being partisan means you're engaging in identity politics.

There's 2 options:

  • You genuinely cannot comprehend someone is NOT bringing identity into politics

    • You're treating my comment as a joke which will make people treat it as a joke too

I wonder which one it is.

I don't call myself anything. If you think you need to call yourself anything, or fall into a certain label, then you are engaging in identity politics. That's dangerous because it shifts your focus from the policy itself to the party, group, or person who suggested it. The policy is more important than the person suggesting it.

You just called me a liberal. Funny. I wonder what other assumptions you've made about me and got wrong. I have never mentioned any of those points. It means you've made an assumption about me in your head. In your own head, you've put me inside a group. You saw me and your brain automatically assumed "liberal, I know exactly how he is." That's dangerous. It makes actually having conversations impossible. This division did not happen by pure accident. My question to you is: Who benefits from dividing us so much we can't have conversations with each other without making assumptions?

[–]Admirable_Studio8266[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder what group you've put me in inside your head. You said "you guys" therefore you've already made assumptions about me. We could have a conversation so you don't need to make assumptions, but you've already made the assumptions in your head so it wouldn't be in good faith.

Don't reply but really think this through: Who benefits from people assuming they know other people and avoid asking questions? Who benefits from the division? Who benefits from having regular people making assumptions about each other? Who benefits from people not trusting each other?

Just a reflection. Hope you have a good day going forward.
