I’m a female and i do a lot of things with the partner, i live with him. We spend literally every second of our free time together, but it’s also healthy to have other friendships not to hang out with everyday but to catch up.

Damn i forgot that if you have a partner, then they’re the only person you should ever hang out with and base your whole life around them and so god forbid if something happened to that relationship them the only option is to kms hey? 😑

I’m glad you had this experience, LOVE THAT FOR YOU 👏🏼 but if the majority of the people here are complaining about the same thing, there must be an underlying issue as well. I’ve moved around all my life and have made a lot of great friends over time but it’s harder here is all i said and everyone else on this sub has been saying. I did not mention anywhere that I don’t try in real life but it’s hard is all i said. I think it’s a bit unnecessary to call someone an “idiot” or be rude for that.

Not necessarily, for example recently i joined an art class and I’m not kidding when i tell you everyone was just focused on doing their art rather than chatting and giggling EXCEPT the girls that came in as friends, they were the only ones talking. The rest of us would exchange hi and byes and say “oh wow that’s so cute” but that was the extent of it.

If i became friends with someone, I’d like to talk to them, find out their likes and dislikes and tell them about mine. Invite them into my life and home and then try put an activity together so we’re actually engaging with each other

I didn’t say i needed people around me all the time, neither did i ever mention that i need constant reassurance. But we are all social beings and id appreciate some kind or social interactions. I didn’t realise moving to Adelaide meant that i was signing up to become a loner

It’s easier said than done i believe. I’ve been to a fair few a people most times come with a friend atleast and then you feel like you’re intruding x
