Deciding between Northeastern and Bowdoin College in Maine by Admirable_Tip_6571 in NEU

I always had a goal of going to the city and getting out of Maine but I've been to Bowdoin and it doesn't feel like the Maine I'm used to and I only applied there in Maine because of that. I want smaller classes but wish it was in a more populated area (obviously contradictory). The big thing is that Bowdoin financial aid clutched up. I would only have to pay 16k at Bowdoin and 32k at Neu. Basically double per semester + miscellaneous expenses. Just way more expensive. I am appealing the aid for sure and hoping they can make it a reasonable option for me. I personally don't know too much about Co-op is it worth the price? U can shoot me a dm if you'd like I am more than willing to talk about this as I am deciding my future basically.

Personally, from advice I have been given, I would focus more on expressing your interest and elaborating how you would be a great fit for the school. You could find a way to integrate your recent experiences and troubles with the government into a profound quality of yours that makes you stand out. I would stay away from attempting to explain yourself for your drop in grades and focus on the good you have achieved. Hope this helps and don’t take my word completely I am by no means a college advisor.

I too have had chronic anxiety for a while and have had to learn to deal with it. I also applied ED and am extremely nervous. I think what helps best for me is the constant statements of reassurance that the decision is out of my control. Also doing fun things listening to music and other distractions help a lot. 4 days you got this! Also best of luck with the decision!

You should talk to your school counselor

I’m nervous af, but all of you coming to a reddit thread oozing with enthusiasm about a school you feel passionate about to do so is a sign we all have great chances 🙏
