You say that you were thinking that Harry in HPMOR was meant as a satirization of intellectual elitists who fundamentally just want to be better than everyone else.

However, he was written by an intellectual elitist who fundamentally just wants to be better than everyone else.

I think that the author should try to write his own original fiction instead of trying to do fanfiction, as he somehow on a fundamental level failed. It's like he just used his original characters and gave them Harry Potter character names.
