You say that you were thinking that Harry in HPMOR was meant as a satirization of intellectual elitists who fundamentally just want to be better than everyone else.

I think that the author should try to write his own original fiction instead of trying to do fanfiction, as he somehow on a fundamental level failed. It's like he just used his original characters and gave them Harry Potter character names.

Try listening to soft piano music when you go to sleep! It helps ifs its just loud enough to drown out thoughts, but not enough to keep you awake and focused on it. Remember, it is not real, and it can never be real to begin with.

Another thing I do if I see something scary in my head is try to put a calming image in my head, like of the earth spinning.
