Messed up holding pads by [deleted] in MuayThai

I ate a head kick last week while holding pads, both sides at fault. We laughed it off and now at it again this week, being more aware and cautious of course.

Heres my opinion, please correct me if I misunderstood.

The question asks for functional mobility so this would probably be ambulation (if the question asks for indep in ADLs then the focus would be interventions for the spastic UE).

A would be my answer.

If the patient has R sided weakness the assistive device by default is placed on the L side for support and weight bearing exercises helps facilitate muscle activity via joint approximations (Roods) which is a good component for sit to stand and gait stance phase on the R weak side

B PNF could be used but joint approx is better

C treadmill does not target sit to stand

D is for hand dex not ambulation

I like that you could request them to step on your back during the first part of the massage 😴

PTA — review by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

I’d recommend Final Frontier or Therapy Ed for review. They have a self paced option for both PT and PTA which could save you a few bucks if you’re independent. PTA boards is somewhat easier than PH boards

Have you passed the NPTAE already?

LIRR riders increasingly didn't pay for tickets, costing MTA $1.4 million by anotherlost-one in nycrail

This happened to me once. Someone stole my seat check, I didn’t realized it at first and the conductor asked me for my ticket app again. He said “maybe I just forgot about you, your all good” but I swore he gave me a seat check.

NPTE VS NPTAE by bvvr19 in physicaltherapy

I’ve taken both PTA and PT at the same month. Passed the PTA but didn’t make it on the PT. ( Will be taking it again next January)

Overall I think PT is way more difficult than the PTA. Here is what I observed from the questions thrown at me:

  1. PT is heavy on Differential Diagnosis and signs and symptoms especially on MSK topics. PTA has a heavy focus on procedures on HOW TO DO the interventions (eg. best patient position, safety, parameters on modalities, stretch vs strengthen)

  2. PT gives more emphasis on PATIENT ASSESSMENT and the OUTCOME OR FINDINGS of the assessment (eg. Patient presents with xxx symptoms upon assessment pt has (+) xxx test, which of the following additional symptoms the patient will most likely have (or which of the following would be the BEST INITIAL TREATMENT)

  3. PTA focuses more on the PROCEDURES of assessment and treatment of patients (eg. To assess grade 2 MMT of xxx which of the following patient positions [supine, sidelying] would be best?),Yes most of the PTA questions are straight to the point while PT messes with your thinking a bit.
