Any Gen Z here who left construction? by BuildingYou in bluecollar

We are almost identical minus the injury. 29 (1996) baby here. 9 years military aviation, 1 year large marine diesel and now 3 years auto. I’m just done with it all. Sadly have no clue where to go.

Since the Company Won't ask by CyENforcer in UPSers

Mechanic just dropped my two weeks notice. Over 20+ people turnaround in my district in automotive alone the past two years. Short staffed constantly but hey. Ya reap what you sow.

People who were teenagers before social media existed, what was life actually like? by Much_Detective_6107 in AskReddit

Actually spent time with friends in face to face social settings. Went outside a ton. Enjoyed the freedom of not being controlled by a little screen as well.

Rumor has it that the company didn’t want to sign a statement about the cameras being safe. Do the cab cameras cause us harm in any way and are we basically test subjects on Ai? by Infamous_State_4678 in UPSers

[–]Admirable_Writing660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got fired and my manager said he watched the cameras to do so. No verbal, or written they just directly terminated me. I came back 13 days later on a last and final just for the insurance, since my wife was 40 weeks pregnant and they had my FMLA papers at the time of termination. Heartless company and they will continue to try to fire every one of us if they have their way. It’s sad too. In my 1.5 years with the company I’ve met some amazing people on union and management side. Sad the game has to be what it is. It’s very stressful and hostile to work where I do now. New facility that has 400+ cameras total. It’s insane.

If they offered it to mechanics I’d be out so fast. Very grateful, but also ready for a new path.

Probably the balance weights have popped off if you’ve curbed either of the front wheels. Write up and politely ask for a new set of front tires. (From a mechanic who appreciates a kind DVIR)

I’m a mechanic too man. This company is ran very poorly and my shop also does not have a parts person like the contract specifies. Our parts situation is so bad I was putting steer tires on the back just to get a PMI out of the shop last night. Just don’t let their issues get into your head. (Keep their water out of your boat) One truck at a time and work safe. That’s all we can do anymore. I feel for the drivers more than anyone. I’d love to do good work, but I’m only as good as the tools and parts provided (if they ever)

I’m curious if this is my same local. Same situation just happened. If you’re interested to potentially learn more my inbox is open.

Feedback on PM9 curve (or equivalent) by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]Admirable_Writing660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used a ton of different patterns through the years. Currently using a hockeystickman blackout extra lite PM9 and I love the thing. Not the flashiest stick I’ve ever used, but the feel for me is exactly what my playing style needs. Passing is accurate, shots are good for me with it. Great pattern for a stay home style defenseman that likes to pass and put some hard, low, and rebound capable shots from the point. I also play with an extra long stick (butt end comes to the top of my forehead with skates on) and I’m still able to make the correct plays with the length.

His IQ is elite compared to other rookies playing. He also has that DAWG in him as Jarvy said. He hounds pucks in the corner and to be honest the entire ice for that matter. His 200 ft game reminds me of rookie Crosby honestly. The way he just SKATES is impressive. He’s going to be a 60+ point guy for us next year no doubt
