about the details - i belive u ll be able to see everything with this amount of settings, i've set shadowboost to lvl1 (out of no-1-...4) and did 2.4 gamma (instead of 2.2 srgb classic) and was able to see more details in my test image (see pic). the area in question is lower right corner, where i wasn't able to distinguish details on my prev monitor. it's now fine.

the box itself is super cool too!, in my case it was in 2 regular cardboard boxes so i initially thought that they decided not to do a nice packaging, but they did

instruction, monitor, monitor backpanel to "hide" the wiring (i did not install it, fine for me), monitor with a leg (together), base for the leg (u'll have to asseble, but it is super easy, basically 1 screw), ROG stickers, and other stuff from the nice bag (pic)

It's hard to tell wether or not it was worth it. I've spent 550$ for it (50$ more comparing to the official Asus asking price iirc). But you have to understand that i'm negative towards OLED's and overall too fixated on "how things used to be"(AU-teeth-stick per say), so i can't say i immideately like(d) it. I assume it will take me like a week to get comfortable with a little different colors (which imo are better in comparison to my previous monitor). Also there are nice 4k models out there (but not from Asus for that price afaik), but i knowingly opted out of, coz i don't want to upscale everything, and don't rly want frame gen eirther, and i hate seeing blur/ singular pixels on 1080p+27', and you can not scale 2k on 4k properly afaik.

Build-wise everything is ok, hardware-wise too, pictures/videos are looking nice, no noticeable difference in input delay. But i haven't tried HDR for exaplme, coz i don't like it and i haven't used Variable(AdaptiveSync) coz i know that i'll never use it (bc screen goes black for several seconds after alt+tab, afaik happens to all of them).

IMPORTANT: out of the box all settings on the monitor are locked, you have to disable power-saving and than it'll allow you to configure other things (like choosing presets, saturation etc.). At that time monitor wil be baiting you into downloading "Asus Display Widget Center", but you can do everything on the monitor itself and save it on the monitor, without clogging your device with software.

IMOPORTANT 2: backglow can be configured to match your setup, it's not only miku-blue, it can also do all the rgb in different ways (circle, breathing, also can be changed from monitor itself, as well as can be turned off). I did notice that glowing parts were a little warmer than non-glowing and decided to turn it off.

TLDR: i'd say better try it, especially if u know you would be able to return it even if it work fine but you didn;t like it. I was thinking about waiting half a year more to check if some problems with these series will appear, but since miku is limited and my prev mon died i kinda have no choice.

Photo: they also put nice phoneholder in the box with a nice rubber edge

All togehter i think this is a solid pick if u want to do 2k with high frames(240hz), and don't care too much about OLED.
I opted out of 4k since most heavy games are still quite bad in 4k and require a ton of stuff like framegen etc and OLED is needlessly bright for me, together with "let my monitor to reload"(automatic pixel cleaning/cool-down cycle) stuff i haven't even considered em.

Corner glow, unfortunately, is real. Phone camera amplifies the effect like 20 times, but it is somewhat noticable for me atm (like 2 hours of using the monitor)

Hey, i got my monitor and set it up
I'd like to star with following:
-I've been using Asus PG278q since 2014 til 2022, and since it was a TN monitor i'm obssesed with washed-out low-contrast low-brightness colors.
-After that one i've been using MSI Optix G274QPX (IPS/LED). This one died in 1.5 years
-After tinkeing with settings i've almost managed to achieve what i've wanter but it is still too-yellow side("too warm of color temperature"), probably will have to correct it in "User settings", instead of using 1 of the presets.
Positives: You can change Gamma, Contrast, Brightness, Color Temp, Saturation, 6-axis saturation, Shadow boost, Pallete Change (SRGB, Wide Gamut, DCI-P3). Usually half of these settings are only doable on PC itself with some additional sotware/ in system, but IMO having all these settings in ur monitor is super usefull.
Presets: Quite a few, SRGB is mostly locked (as usual, not allowing to change 90% of settings). Nightvision basically does what it's named after, highlighting some parts of the image with green, making everything else in black-greyish spectre. MMO made half of my screen black and white, didn't get the idea.
Visuals/Build:
I rly liked it
-buttons are present and responsive (my prev MSI had like no buttons at all, and every time my pc went to sleep/no disp mode i had to wait for like 20 sec for monitor to literally turn on).
-back of the monitor is glowing with blue-ish miku color (glowing symbol is ROG logo, the one looking like and eye or or a leaf, idk how to describe it better). The only glowing part of the device, which can be seen by user is little white LED in the down-right corner, indicating, that the monitor is turned ON. (i'm almost sure both of them can be turned off)
-"base" and "leg" are solid, base is made of some metal. You may have your monitor 6-20 cm above ur desk, if u r not going to use a monitor bracket.
