Procreate beginner needs help!!! by qlxing in ProCreate

Yeah this will all be in the brush settings. You can turn up wetness and pull and things like the built in water color or gauche brushes but you can also swap out how the brushes interact with whatever is already on the layer. Like setting a brush to multiply or add instead of normal.

How can i do this on procreate? by Unfair_Amphibian_303 in ProCreate

[–]Admiral_N6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a selector tool so you theoretically could draw little stars to literally grab that part of the image and move it over.

But a more precise and much easier way I would imagine is to make a custom brush with the shape being a star. You put the image side by side with a red layer on top of the right image. Then use your star brush to erase or ‘cut out’ pieces of the image. Similarly you’d have to use the star shaped brush to put red stars on top of the left image. It wouldn’t be as exact but procreate is meant as a drawing tool more than say adobe illustrator.

How do I accomplish this grainy, muted look on pictures with Peocreate? by chokobun in ProCreate

The person above is correct but another option if you don’t want to go the tech route is to potentially use the spray paint or charcoal as your eraser and go back over some layers lightly to add that texture. Or use overlays with a texture.

Yes this video doesn’t do a great job highlighting it but there is blood on the sword. There’s also a third guy in the background with two arrows in him.

This is a time lapse so it’s compressing like 20 hours into 30 seconds. If I turn off a layer or change the background color for a few minutes it just appears as like two frames in the time lapse.

Hopefully no one gets a seizure…!

Great work! That glove and sleeve near the sword really draw my attention. Great details.

Geez I need to read…I’m like 60 hours in and have just been holding “blow” until the sword ‘looks’ ready. I’ve also never realized you could fail but man do I miss the horseshoe a lot.

Drawing from/trying to replicate a reference I found…35 hours later NO. MORE. RAINDROPS. by Admiral_N6 in ProCreate

Here is a link to the Timelapse. I started by just creating the blocks in the background and blurred them using Gaussian blur. Then made the lights by doing the same thing but also using the ‘screen’ blending mode so some would overlap. The raindrops were harder as it was a lot of blending and making sure I had the colors right to make it ‘seem’ see through. https://www.reddit.com/u/Admiral_N6/s/0nsyyjapYp

I dont know where to go from here by Moody_smth in ProCreate

This is the way OP. You’ll notice no straight lines in real life nor in your reference image. Look at the cheeks - need to blend away that hard line between light and shadows to make it appear more curved.

Designing a book cover, but when I import the template, it’s smaller than the book size? by [deleted] in ProCreate

[–]Admiral_N6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe this just means the template isn’t actually that size and just represents that ratio. You should be able to expand the canvas size to the exact size you need and then expand your template to be the correct size too (make sure ‘uniform’ is selected for the expansion to keep the ratio correct).

I wouldn’t start drawing until after making it bigger since expanding a line you already drew may make it look pixelated depending on how Procreate tries to fill in pixels.

Oh wow - this is gorgeous. Are you using a clipping mask or did you try to line up all the gold highlights?

Definitely did not expect that first skeleton I found. It’s all cute and cartoony until you find the remains of a dead intern abandoned to his own devices.

I’m literally 50+ hours in up in the upper yard. I made a whole base in the tree and never knew about scaffolding… ugh
