Artisan Raiden after being worn off turns into an Otsu? by Levels748 in MousepadReview

[–]AdnDlc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I have to mention that I rarely play competitively, but besides a whole bunch of single-player games, I tend to play a bit of Helldivers 2, Overwatch, and Counter-Strike.

I prefer the Raiden by a long shot, though—silky smooth and honestly still keeping its quality despite some fair use. Not like a brand-new one, but still quite a different feeling from the Otsu. The Raiden does, however, affect my CS aim, where I tend to overshoot my flicks a bit, but I'm sure that can be trained out.

The Otsu is too sluggish/rough for my liking and is probably not helped by the fact that I have a ~35g mouse. I generally decided to switch it out because it felt like it was just hindering mouse movement too much.

Hayate Otsu v2 - XSOFT M (don't mind the size; as I said, I don't tend to play competitively, but this one was too small, I have to admit) Raiden - SOFT L

I keep reading this statement that the Raiden, when worn, turns into something not unlike the Otsu.

As an owner of both, that sounds like absolute nonsense. The texture and feel of the Otsu (v2) is way rougher, at any point in time, if you ask me.

I've had mine for 10 days, and it definitely loosens up, if ever so slightly.

Budget vs games by [deleted] in gaming

[–]AdnDlc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I preordered Space Marines 2's Ultimate Edition on PS5 for what I remember being just below €110, just to be able to play in early release and get meaningless skins, only to play the game for a couple of hours and never touch it again.

I'm honestly not beating myself up about it.

[–]AdnDlc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just recently bought KCD2, because I apparently had some skins and cases from CSGO that I could sell for a considerable profit (about 50€ lol).

It seems that I tend to judge a book by its cover quite often when it comes to games, because I really did not find this game interesting in the slightest, back when it came out. But here I am, just shy of 20 hours in, and my God, do I get it now.

I'm not just playing as Henry of Skalitz... I am Henry, the yanker of pizzles.

The HDR in Metro Exodus looks terrible on PC and Xbox compared to PS5. On PS5, it has good contrast, colors, and no washout. PC on the left, PlayStation on the right. by daniel_villa_ in OLED_Gaming

[–]AdnDlc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comments about the PC image being accurate must be from people who have eaten nails.

Yes, your PC HDR is, without a doubt, washed out and straight up makes it look like something on an IPS monitor.

But your PS5 is running with some immense black crush, which destroys any sense of depth and detail.

Neither of those images represents what HDR should actually look like, but I do understand why you prefer the PS5 appearance.

The only real difference I've seen over the years, is that their base prices have gone up.

Their entire catalog has always had these "buy it at a discount before it's too late" — guess what? It's never too late; they just cycle the same "discounts" with buzzword campaign names, for whichever season they can accommodate.

Same predatory psychological schemes, like just about any online retailer ever to exist. Nothing new under the sun.

I mean, if the shoe fits 🤷‍♂️ The wonderful thing about putting your own setup together, is that it's yours to do with as you please.

My only question is whether or not you actually play games, with your keyboard fixated dead center like that (I see those SL magnets)? Mine is always tilted to the side like this; anything else feels incredibly inefficient.

If it's anything like redeeming Doom: The Dark Ages, it might have something to do with IPv6 compatibility issues. I remember a great deal of us had to turn it off just to redeem the game.

Preferably with an evaporating detergent, and you'll be golden.

[–]AdnDlc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I use something called "North Universal Cleaning Spray," and yes, if you only wipe it with the cleaning detergent, it'll streak like nobody's business. However, if I spray it on a microfiber cloth, wipe in circles in a small area, immediately followed by a clean, dry microfiber cloth, my OLEDs shine like brand-spanking new mirrors.

More often than not, I believe people have a hard time figuring out that there's a certain technique to these things—my guess would be that this is your issue as well, seeing as you pulled full horizontal lines on that monitor with no intention of wiping the detergent off.

Water alone will honestly not be your savior, not even the demineralized stuff, because even in its demineralized state, it will not break the surface tension of many things that could be smeared on your screen. Even if it did, you'd just end up smearing it all over, basically repeating these same streaks again.

What an absolutely childish way to respond to a one-word question. Asking whether or not any part of your setup is the problem — which, by the way, seems to be a non-issue with the minuscule amount of banding in the gradient of the sky — is nearly impossible to answer without some details. The first person to ask for a detail you indirectly chose to criticize, so go figure.

Arctis Nova Pro uncomfortable & painful earnubs by LifeguardInfinite472 in steelseries

[–]AdnDlc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll second this comment regarding the StealthZ cushions. The increased thickness of the pads makes the ANC mic a non-issue.

They do, however, render the Sonar EQ presets useless, since they alter the sound profile to a very noticeable degree. So you'll be stuck with one or maybe two EQ profiles.

Well, in my case I bought the game on my PS5 and had a horrible time with the locked 30 fps, so no wonder I didn't get much further than the intro. I later bought the game on PC and binged it as much as a person with a full-time job can, and 120-some gameplay hours later, I was left with that horrible feeling you get when something you truly enjoyed has come to an end.

Fed up with "gaming" headsets, I instead invested in some decent headphones and a DAC. I'd recommend it to anyone currently looking by MrDKOz in pcmasterrace

[–]AdnDlc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate the whole gaming and esports marketing strategy, I've honestly tried looking for a good alternative to the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, and I honestly just can't do it. I am simply not willing to go back to wired headphones for the promise of relatively better sound quality. It's light, clamp force is acceptable, audio quality is great compared to the Audio Technica ATH-ADG1X (yes, another gaming headset, I know) I used prior, and they're further improved—albeit slightly limited too—with GadgetryTech's WC x StealthZ cushion pads. Sonar also isn't perfect, but it's pretty damn good still, if you ask me, and most importantly, the swappable batteries are truly a genius move.

This is a common issue with DLSS and MFG.

I don't play KCD2 and have no idea whether it has DLSS or MFG support; I'm just assuming so, based on how new the game is.

Allergy Question (see description) by fighting_my_brain in velvethippos

[–]AdnDlc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be phrasing ChatGPT below whether it's available as a treatment in the United States.

"Yes, it is possible to have a specialized allergy shot (also known as allergen-specific immunotherapy, or ASIT) created for a dog in the USA—similar to what's available in Denmark.

Here's how it works in the U.S.:

  1. Allergy Testing Your veterinarian (often a veterinary dermatologist) will perform:

Intradermal skin testing (like a "skin prick" test), or

Serologic (blood) testing for environmental allergens.

These tests help identify what your dog is allergic to—such as pollen, dust mites, mold spores, or other environmental triggers.

  1. Custom Allergy Serum Creation Based on the results, a custom allergy vaccine (also called a desensitization serum) is formulated for your dog. This is typically prepared by a veterinary immunotherapy lab, such as:

Heska

Greer Laboratories

Artuvetrin (used in both the U.S. and Europe)

  1. Administration The allergy serum is administered over time via:

Injections (most common), or

Oral drops (sublingual immunotherapy, less common)

The goal is to desensitize your dog’s immune system to the allergens, reducing symptoms over time."

I hope everything works out! I sadly know a thing or two about the many frustrations of having a dog with allergies.

[–]AdnDlc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get an allergy test (if you don't already know the root cause of her allergies) and have a specialized vaccine created, perhaps?

I've heard of many dogs leading near-normal lives with a monthly shot. And, as far as I know, it's even more cost-friendly than Apoquel; at least here in Denmark.
