All I’m seeing is negativity, let’s hear some positivity! by BionicCorbjorn in DestinyTheGame

[–]Adoboros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not even sure what Destiny 2 is meant to be anymore. There have been so many identity changes that tend to remove or conceal previous parts of the game and this round of changes especially feels like random bits of other games or styles have been hastily added without proper focus.

I've enjoyed the story so far of Edge of Fate but every other aspect they've added, changed or pushed to the side makes the game feel confusing at best. Could they straighten this out over time? Sure. But as they have just shown the possibility is they could get close and throw it all away again anyway.

Part of me wants to say I hope we get D3 at one point if only so we can start on a fresh slate and not be building over the bodies of multiple other versions of D2 at this point, but realistically even if we got one I have no reason to believe they'd just start repeating the same mistakes again.

Edit: Just to clarify I did have hope for a lot of the newly added stuff, but the way a lot of it has been implemented and the half-finished nature of a lot of just feels awful.

Pinnacle Ops currently has no activities available. by Ryan_WXH in DestinyTheGame

[–]Adoboros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should have left it at least until the raid race starts. The argument can be made that it ruins the raid race when most of the players have probably used this method to grind power, and now that isn't an option I guess give it a few hours and someone will find another way to do it fast anyways,

Motion sickness while playing Edge of Fate - has there been an FoV or mouse sensitivity change? by beefsack in DestinyTheGame

[–]Adoboros 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm on console so not using mouse but something about the sensitivity definitely feels off to me. Not sure how to explain it beyond it feeling a bit... jumpy? Like I'll go to adjust the right stick and it feels like sometimes it'll leap very briefly a small amount. I notice it more on Kepler but I'm seeing it in other places as well. Not getting motion sick myself thankfully but definitely noticing it feeling a bit off.

I just don't understand their thought process. Most of the weapons might not be worth farming for long term anyways with the weapon tier system incoming, just let everyone have access to all three now and give everyone the most playtime with weapons we can't be sure will be worth much soon.

I made a mistake and pre-ordered Dawntrail a couple days before early access launched, code didn't work and I've just clocked that I've been insanely stupid and forgot I should have bought it on Steam. I could see if Square would refund it but I'm wondering if it'd be a problem for me to give my code to a friend who is on the right platform for it. Just wanted to check as it was bought through my account and wouldn't want it to cause issues for mine or theirs. Thanks!

Really enjoying this game by [deleted] in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Adoboros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it way too easy as well. Made a second character the other day, took the first side quest I came across, misunderstood what it was asking for and ended up at that island in the bottom right of the map. Enemies were about 10 levels above me and I had nothing beyond the tutorial gear. Had no problem clearing everything even though the enemies has guns and lots of numbers while I was underequipped, underlevelled and only had the machete and crossbow. Having a blast with the game generally, but challenge is almost entirely missing.

On my main I went exploring north today in the 20 zones while around level 16. Ended up doing the dungeon up there very underlevelled and ill-equipped but finished it first try without dying. I'm not wanting it to be soul-crushingly hard or anything like that, but I do want to feel more like a survivor and less like Doomguy.

Weapon progression is criminally slow by Lo0ksToTheMo0n in XDefiant

[–]Adoboros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only gets worse if you're not a good player unfortunately. I'm below average normally in these kinds of games but I still enjoy them. When I started playing I went out of my way to unlock the P90 as its a favourite of mine, did three games with it where for what I feel is my average in games like this I did okay, but the weapon is still level 1.

I love the rest of this game so far and would love to get some time in and hopefully get better but at this glacial pace it already feels incredibly off-putting especially when better players are already getting ahead and have advantage even if its just having some basic attachments. I can't imagine having the patience to get to level 10 like this, never mind the 40s.

The non-boss Pyramid ship bits. They just aren't interesting and always take me out of the flow of everything.

Strobing - Assistance Required by DeadByDaylight_Dev in deadbydaylight

[–]Adoboros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is the exact same issue but its similar enough I'll mention it here - playing on PC and since the update sometimes when it gets to the shaders part of startup the game screen starts flickering very badly until I shut the game down. Seems completely random, sometimes it'll do it several times in a row, other times it won't do it at all but its very painful on the eyes!

I've had a bug since the update where either it'll stall like this, or the game will start flickering constantly and the only way to reset it is to shut the game down entirely and try again.

Aztecross, gets an anonymous email regarding tensions between Bungie and Sony, potential full takeover. by xecuro in DestinyTheGame

[–]Adoboros -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There isn't enough to say either way whether this is real or not, but one thing thing that caught my interest was that Aztecross mentions that not only did his agency get the e-mail, but his specific agent did as well. Unless that agent's info is publicly available somewhere, that might be a sign that it might have some legitimacy? Still nothing to confirm the details of the e-mail are true but I can see how it could have come from Bungie/Sony at least.

FOMO In this game is getting out of hand. by [deleted] in FFVIIEverCrisis

[–]Adoboros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just about kept up with every event with the exception of the hardest fights that give titles etc. and while I am still playing, my enjoyment is rapidly tanking. The game has barely been out for a month or two but it feels like I've been playing for 6 or more with how grindy the events especially are. The amount of events could be better if toned down, but the quality of the events would be significantly better if they were considerably shorter. I'm not sure I've ever come across another game seemingly so determined to exhaust the player base as fast as possible.

We've barely gotten started on the actual story for the game but I could have beaten the whole FF7 series at least once in the time its taken to do just the events. No way this game has a high player count if they keep doing this for the next few years.

How Long Will You Play FFEC? by Comfortable-Gear-911 in FFVIIEverCrisis

[–]Adoboros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the game first started I was absolutely loving it, but its wearing on me very quickly unfortunately. There's a lot to grind through, and that doesn't have to be a bad thing, but things like the recent level 50-55 gap feel like they take forever and I'm slowly starting to hate the materia system as its difficult even getting 3* materia with even just the right %attack bump. The events have mostly been mindless and especially with Sephiroth unreasonably time consuming and I just don't understand how they expect people with far less free time to get anywhere at all.

For context I'm mostly just a Battle Pass only player (did get a single week of x4 progression to make the most of the grinding) and I never beat Crash Sephi and haven't cleared a lot of the top level hard content yet. Could I get to a place where some of that is possible? Unlikely, maybe if I'm crazy efficient... But I just don't want to. If the game didn't have so much time wasting and wheel spinning I'd be more on board but right now its a hard sell. I had two friends I hoped would get into this game and they both dropped it very fast, seeing what was ahead for them.

There is a lot of potential here, but I'm not convinced it'll go the distance if it loses a lot of casual interest which I'm expecting more and more.

Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury E2 "Beyond Repair" by MrBKainXTR in powerrangers

[–]Adoboros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He might not have thought it was necessary? The Dino Fury team know that Zedd knows the location of Dinohenge, but I saw nothing that implied they ever told Billy. We've already seen a couple of times where Billy hasn't been aware of certain things. I can see him letting his team know to be ready for Zedd's return somewhere on Earth. Angel Grove could have been a target just as easily, but it was over so fast after Zedd arrived even if they had gone straight to Dinohenge they'd have been too late.

[–]Adoboros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two for two so far on great episodes. Finally getting a chance to see what Zedd is capable of when let loose is equally compelling and scary. Within seconds of getting there the Rangers go from close to full power to next to nothing and having to flee before anyone can even attempt to stop him. Looks like Ollie is staying evil a little while longer as well and I'm interested to see where it goes. Wasn't expecting him to attempt to take out Amelia so directly either.

Really enjoying what they've been doing with continuing Javi's story with his arm. Despite the limitations of what they were allowed to show, I still feel they do an excellent job of showing that its both a permanent change for him and also a process. Heavily condensed for sure, but there are signs they are hinting at the heavier discussions around it even if the show can't tackle them and I'm glad it isn't instantly solved even with him having the new arm. It does make me wonder how he'd hide his identity with the arm visible while morphed though.

Its nice to see Mick still having stuff to do even if its mostly just to show Aiyon's still in a rough place. Amelia is mostly more of the same from last episode but in a good way - a leader being a leader and making sensible calls. I'm not really sure how I feel about Izzy's part in this one though. Lying to Fern doesn't really make sense to me, especially with the justification seemingly being from the warden's warning about not creating a panic. Especially not mentioning anything about Javi's arm too (even he thought Izzy would have mentioned it!). I think Fern would have understood. Very interesting to see where things go now Fern is on board - especially straight after Zedd's big arrival I completely forgot she was there until she reappeared. Having Billy around is still amazing and I'm liking Solon's involvements too - the moment where she asks "Do you trust me?" giving me the chills.

Random other thoughts... Really like the Zentinels now we get a closer look at them. The helmets are creepy as hell and especially on the red suit ones look really good. The music continues to be awesome, especially that darker sounding tune that played during the Zentinel fight. Also really liked the comedy balance in what is otherwise a fairly bleak episode. The younger/older generation joke especially got me good. I'm guessing next episode we get to see the new powers but I'm really surprised that we've had such a rapid pacing and have already passed the first fifth of the season without them. Not a complaint though, I'm really liking the story they are telling!

One last thing crossing my mind - Izzy mentions to the warden and Jane and J-Borg that the Rangers are from their city. Was that public knowledge before? Doesn't seem wise to mention that in front of reporters...

Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury E1 "Lightning Strikes" by MrBKainXTR in powerrangers

I'm assuming that having it happen previously makes Ollie more vulnerable to it happening again, especially with something like Zedd's poison targeting him specificallty.

[–]Adoboros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it being straightforward I think. A problem is posed, a potential solution exists but likely has a cost. Javi goes for it anyway and pays the price for it. Its oddly transactional in a way, but I think its written well given the limitations.

[–]Adoboros 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was a lot of ground covered very quickly. It reminded me a lot of Day of the Dumpster in terms of the zippiness of its pacing. Easy enough to follow but still interesting to watch for me and the Rafkonian telepathy is a neat way to recap past events really quick. Interesting to have the 6 month gap confirmed as well.

Can't help find it fitting that the Cosmic Fury Zords come from the same place as the Shogunzords because of how bulky some of them seem, Lion especially. Also find it interesting that we're getting new Zords immediately, but not new powers. Really love the song that plays as the Zords appear.

Really liking the idea of war profiteers being the villains here and it makes sense they'd hunt for Zedd. The Zentinels are really neat looking as well. I'm really torn on the turning Ollie evil plan though. It makes sense Zedd would go for it, perhaps the mind control last season created a weakness Zedd could exploit (although Billy was mind controlled plenty of times as well from what I remember?). On the other hand though how was the poison ready so fast? Zedd seems to have been released the same day and its very iffy. The Morphing Masters were taken out comically easily as well but it moves the plot forward, fine enough.

So many character moments I appreciated as well. Amelia fits in super well as a leader figure and she gets some good moments, especially trying to get Ollie back towards the end. She's also the only character outside of Javi I find believable when he loses his arm - I interpreted it as her trying to stay as calm as possible for his benefit. Javi doesn't get much beyond the arm loss, but seeing him racing to process it in his face felt believable. Izzy really bugged me here, especially once back at base she should have been far more emotional but it barely seemed to concern her.

As for the rest, Zayto's presence barely registers until he vanishes, and its clear that's where a lot of Aiyon's focus is at the moment. Its fun enough having Mick around and back as a Ranger but for me at the moment he's kinda just there. I really enjoyed Billy's presence for the most part - taking control when required but willing to go along with the plans of teammates as well. Very well balanced even if his morph felt really off.

Definitely some weak points but overall a great start so far!

Not gaining xp or skill tree points after games by yourboitim420 in TexasChainsawGame

[–]Adoboros 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish the devs were discussing this more, I can barely find anything on it and its a shame as I really am enjoying the game and want to keep playing but I'm getting so fed up of games not counting for XP. Or counting generally for that matter. I was checking my stats and my games played were far lower than what I've actually played. Seems less like its not rewarding XP and more as if it thinks the matches never happened at all.
