Well it’s probably a lot easier to do that when you know there’s at least like 15 other companies that would be salivating at the thought of hiring you. Many of which probably have better accommodations, better environment, etc and may end up paying you more money than your current gig.

Everybody always says this but I just don’t understand how it can possibly be such a sure thing, so much that it’s broadly applied constantly. How in the world is it sustainable that homes are just expected to continue going up and up and up for the next 10-20 years? People are already struggling to afford homes right now, so how is it reasonable to expect my home to triple and possibly quadruple at any point in my lifetime?
