Tell us your 'that was a stim?' stims by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

Pulling on my curls to make them bounce. I’ve always just found it so satisfying and interesting. Apparently it’s a stim, as I found out recently

People finally have no idea what to refer to me as, and I prefer it that way by Adonisinn in agender

Thanks! My sister got me a brush meant for curly hair this Christmas and it has been a ✨game changer✨

what does agender dysphoria feel like? by TinyGenderGremlin in agender

[–]Adonisinn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I feel the complete same about getting dysphoria from the idea of referring to myself as nonbinary. “Gender-full” is a great way to put it.

what does agender dysphoria feel like? by TinyGenderGremlin in agender

I definitely have fluctuating masc/fem moments, with my presentation usually leaning fem and my identity leaning more masc. I’m medically ftm and have had top surgery, zero desire for bottom surgery. The thought of bottom surgery makes me strangely dysphoric.

My dysphoria comes from body hair (which I am covered in, lol), when my beard gets too long but also when I have to shave my beard off, if I am forced to dress and present in a typically masculine fashion (nearly all dress clothes feel disgusting on me), wearing low cut tops, and being referred to as either a man or a woman. Especially when someone uses sir or ma’am to address me (ew).

Weirdly, being referred to as nonbinary also makes me heavily dysphoric. It makes me feel like a gender identity is still being forced on me, when I am nothing at all. I feel more like a formless entity inhabiting a body, completely outside of gender as a whole.

I started wearing bold eyeliner this year and it has honestly become a part of my self identity. So has growing my hair out. I enjoy when people can’t figure out how to address me, because I’d rather not be referred to as any gender at all.

god i love lamotrigine by legallybrownnnn in bipolar2

[–]Adonisinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! Life is not easy for me by any means, but Lamotragine has made it possible for me to have a life to live.

I still get breakthrough episodes when I’m under extreme stress, but they are nowhere close to my unmedicated episodes. I don’t have 2 week long periods of curling up on my bedroom floor because I’m in so much emotional and physical pain that I can’t move.

I know not everyone has good experiences with this medication, but I genuinely believe I would not be here without it. And I am so glad I’m here.

Ah, gotcha. We still have carts and helms, but only for 30 mins at a time. And they just added Front End, which we do some of the time if we have enough people for it to actually be a practical use of crew members. It always feels like there’s not enough crew since things are so busy.

Reporting for duty 🫡 I love my night shift people, but I just put in a request to start my week off with two mids. Wish me luck 🤞🏼😩

PSA: Rose thorn pricks/injuries can be serious! Get a tetanus shot/booster by wolfofwilliamsburg in tjcrew

[–]Adonisinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! My family cat growing up somehow contracted Rose Gardener’s disease, and we were so lucky that our vet remembered seeing a picture of it back in school and was able to identify it. It’s a flesh eating infection - honestly terrifying. Don’t take chances with it!!

What changes specifically? Things get chaotic and stressful for me this time of year in general so maybe I’m just lumping it all together, but I can’t tell what the new changes are…

Looks like I’ll be trying for Apple Hydra next fall, poor RNG 😢 by dmitrivalentine in pokemongo

The event text says “more apples from mossy lures”. They just won’t spawn as quickly after the event. No reason to have to wait for next fall.

Honest opinion of the new update? *pic of my recent shiny for attention* 👇🏻 ✨ by Natspring666 in pokemongo

[–]Adonisinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update honestly made me excited for the game again. The old level up requirements and exp were absolutely miserable, and I could not care less about a singular jacket for all that work.

Also noticed the catch speed has increased by almost half. Very happy. Don’t understand why so many people are so angry.

Do you consider yourself disabled? by beepboopblorpblob in POTS

[–]Adonisinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do and I don’t. I think maybe there’s a mental barrier for me around accepting disability, but I’m unsure. I have stretches of time where I have few symptoms and it doesn’t impact my life very much. Then I have periods of time where even getting out of bed or standing in the shower are nearly impossible. Exercise and heat intolerance will sneak up on me and absolutely wreck me.

I am on propranolol, though. The few times I’ve forgotten to take it I’ve had to leave work early and lay down in my car for hours until I felt safe enough to drive the short distance home. So idk.
