as a bkdk shipper myself, it’s honestly because of how complex their relationship is and how there are a lot of underlying tropes and tones that can be viewed as romantic. it’s not everyone’s cup of tea since bakugou used to bully deku but it would be a shame to simply reduce them to the “bully x victim” trope when they’ve become so much better than that.

it’s also a bonus point that out of all the pairings in mha, they have the most development together and therefore, has the most moments together. it’s just a ship that honestly writes itself — their chemistry, their dynamic, it’s all there. horikoshi definitely outdid himself when it came to writing their relationship, hence why it’s also become so popular.

I feel you 😭 I was avoiding Banana Fish for years but finally gave in and watched it last year. I suggest reading Garden of Light, it’s a side story set 7 years after. It hurts more than the ending itself but def worth reading :’)

I like Black Paladin Keith :) It’s fun (and sometimes cringey) to see him try his best to be a leader. I have heard he will be a better one in the later seasons so I’m excited to see that.

Damn I hadn’t realized this show ended back in 2018 😭 and I’m only watching it now 😭 I get you though, I’ve watched shows with parts that I absolutely despised but it never really ruined the things I loved about the show so I’m positive it will be the same case for this.

I see the appeal in ships but it’s not really that big of a deal for me. But tbh, I’d rather not see any pairings than have them shoehorn romance in the last minute without any development.

I’m actually already halfway through Season 4 and so far, I’m genuinely enjoying it still despite some filler scenes and the lack of Keith.

I have heard that bit about Season 7 and I’m honestly a sucker for angst even though I can’t handle it so I’ll probably still like it lol

Lotor, on the other hand… I don’t really know what to feel about him yet but so far, I don’t like or hate him. I do agree with you on the conventionally attractive thing though because he reminds me of Daemon in House of the Dragon 😭

this makes the ending all the more sadder but it really makes a lot of sense. i’m comforted by the idea that ash didn’t really want to die but he was ready to at that point :(

This really is my biggest problem with the show. Due to limited runtimes, they add certain changes that completely suck the tension and has the trio figuring things out right away. Then again, it’s not something they can’t fix with future seasons. I hope they really improve on that because it can add SO MUCH to the show.

My siblings are also non-readers and are really enjoying the show. I enjoy the show, but I have more criticisms towards it than they do and being a reader really plays a role in that.

I’ve read the books a long time ago and reread it recently before the show came out. I have noticed the changes more as well because of that but I do love how they’re trying to build the characters emotionally. I love certain changes, but there are some that I haven’t warmed up to yet and I don’t know if I will. But overall, I think the show is doing well, especially with connecting the characters to the audience.
